Being refurbished. Massive cathedral!! Well light. Inspiring murals and vivid colorful stained glass windows. Large elaborate vivid carvings adorn a Massive central central alter and walls. Relays the feeling of calm and serenity. Uplifting sermons and inspiring words.
I'm lucky enough to live a few blocks away from this church while I am here in NH for work for the winter. Great things this church does: no extraordinary Eucharistic ministers, kneelers for Communion if you choose to receive on the tongue, Fr Jason has inspiring homilies, gorgeous choir & organ, Cathedral and chapel are both equally as stunning. Edit, two things I forgot originally: no donation baskets going around during Mass to distract from the Mass, church bells at Mass time. This is what people want out of Catholic Mass- reverence and tradition and it shows as the pews are pretty full and quite a bit of young people & younger married couple with kids.
beautiful place. Amen to all answered prayers.
Unfortunately the main church was locked up, but we were able to spend some time in the small daily Mass chapel, which was beautiful. I would love to return and see the rest.
Beautiful community! I can tell that what they're doing here is good, because every couple of days, a man named Patrick so mercifully comes and removes garbage from the property. He does this knowing that in a few hours, more city filth will accumulate. His dedication and devotion is inspiring! Thanks Patrick!
Gorgeous Gothic Catholic Church. Beautiful Mass with Cardinal Sean O'Malley.
Peaceful surrounding's for Those Special Moments...
It's my parish so I might be prejudiced but homilies from our pastor/rector are always beautiful. Lovely old cathedral needing many interior repairs. Gorgeous stained glass windows.
I live an hour away in northern New Hampshire. I’ve converted from atheism in the past few years. I’ve taken a journey through all denominations of Christianity and finally have chosen Catholicism. In my quest of rigorous study and truth seeking, I have learned many things that disturbed me about how most Catholic churches operate today. It has been very difficult to find a church that I trust in. I have even been to some “Catholic masses“ where there is no reverence for the Eucharist. I once attended a mass where the body of Christ was dropped on the floor and then tossed casually onto the altar to be dealt with later like piece of paper to be thrown in the trash can. I literally want to cry thinking about it. Needless to say I’ve lost faith and trust in many churches and my biggest challenge has been to find one that I can call home. St. Joseph’s Cathedral feels like it might be that place for me. So much so that I am willing to commute two hours every Sunday just to attend services. I pray the Holy Spirit continues to bless this church. I fear we are running out of sanctuary’s and true houses of worship.
Father Jason is truly an amazing priest. He handled the election and the pandemic well. He is in the right place. He allowed everyone to come into his church without judgment and unnecessary rules. He is a true leader sent from above ensuring everyone has a spot with God. It is a blessing to have him. Praying for him daily to make sure our churches remain open. This is the kind of leadership that should be emulated.
