Though the church itself is fine, they need to work on their homeless situation. The church allows homeless to squat right outside the doors of the church, so that after mass particularly, they can hit up all the “good Christians” for money. It’s the same homeless people. They know a good thing when they see it, and it’s disgusting that the church allows this squalor to persist.
I personally was praying in the little side room of the church to the black Jesus statue right after the 6am mass. As I knelt and prayed, a homeless man walked right up behind him, stuck his hand out, and in Spanish told me to give him money for food - in the church, in the prayer room, at my back.
I did not acknowledge him, but kept and eye on him. He literally stayed in that same position for over 2 minutes. I nearly jumped up and shoved him but held my composure.
Get rid of these bums. There are plenty of services for homeless people, but not outside and inside the doors of a church during mass hours where families come to worship.
Other than this, Father and the parishioners make it a wonderful church.

Most services are in Spanish only. This is English speaking country and not Mexico. Sunday evening mass only in Spanish. No considerations for the English speaking members
