My nurses were wonderful and patient and so kind. I really felt cared for and that's saying a lot. My nurses Marilou and Jen were absolutely AMAZING! Jen went out of her way to get me a reclining chair so i could sleep since i had a cyst on my fallopian tube and the pain was ridiculous. She got me a chair to be able to sleep. I will never forget that gesture! As for the other nurses that rotated through thank you as well. Making sure I got my ice chips at all times and catering to me. One of the best experiences I've had in a hospital thanks to these lovely ladies.
I have been to this emergency room numerous times with the same issue. I suffer from chronic UTIs and kidney infections recently I started vomiting up blood and I went to this emergency room. I was treated with such kindness and concern. The triage nurse in the ER waiting area noticed I had blood on the front of my shirt and I was in extreme amount of pain. She got on the phone and contacted the nurse in the back area, explain my symptoms and her concern that I should be seen immediately. Thanks to the concern of this wonderful nurse I was taken back almost immediately and put in a room. Soon after I was able to see the doctor who was very kind and noticeably concerned. He ordered tests and also ordered pain medicine and nausea medicine immediately. Within an hour of arriving at this hospital I had an IV in was given medicine so I was more comfortable and was already having tests done. I'm not sure what took place from this visit to the visit I had here 2 years ago but they have apparently listened to their patients and made changes. My visit there 2 years ago was horrendous just the opposite of my recent visit. I am truly impressed with this hospital and the efforts they have made to improve patient care. I was admitted into the hospital from the emergency room recently and again while in the hospital treated with such compassion. I would highly recommend this hospital. I believe it is one of the best if not the best in the Phoenix area
Doctors and nurses have attitudes you ask a simple question and they respond with attitude. I was always calm and patient you request somehow for your sick loved one and they don't do it. Also for people of color they don't really have people that speak another language than English. I understand they work hard and are stressed but we only ask that you treat us with a little more kindness and our sick ones instead of yelling at our sick ones this hospital needs more people who can speak different languages. I thank them I really do but when having a sick one all you want is the best for them.
I've been inpatient at St Joseph's twice on the neurology floor for chronic migraine care. I was treated well until they decided it was time for me to leave. The 1st time I woke with extreme abdominal pain and was kicked out, only to end up in the ER at a different hospital with gastritis, and possibly some "Bug"I picked up while inpatient. This week I went in for treatment to once again wake with extreme abdominal pain and severe dizziness. Luckily a doctor making rounds saw and said I could not leave. Today I was brought discharge papers and my husband asked if we could stay long enough to see how I reacted to a new med I was just given. I was also eating lunch. The next thing we know the charge nurse came in with 3 other nurses and a huge security guard kicking us out. I'm deaf and was so confused. I kept asking why and got no answer. I demanded to get in writing why I why being treated this way and was told i needed to change my tone and it was noted. At this time I felt threatened. We were escorted from the building. My excellent headache specialist is affiliated with this hospital, but I will never go back. I am in so much pain tonight with severe gastritis....again. My stress level hasn't been this high in years. My treatment has been sent way back. Some of the staff are excellent, too bad the hospital seems to need to turn over rooms so quickly the good nurses and staff can't give the care needed. extreme pain in extreme pain and
I would give them a Zero if i could...I normally never leave comments to the hospital and I understand there patients have more urgent care then others but come on... 11 hours waiting for a freaking MRI that my husband's doctor needed. I never waited this long from any hospital I have been. The staff are wonderful nice friendly and helpful when we came and ask them questions but 11 hours to get call then wait again for the MRI. If I could I would have take him to another hospital close were we live plus i have two little one that are waiting for us. Never coming back and tell friends and family members to not come here
I am so forever grateful for the staff here. I was in respiratory failure and the ER saw me right away. After failed attempts I was admitted to the ICU. I don’t recall much but the nurse Heather helped put my family back in the Midwest at ease and was so kind. Anna, braided my hair while I was on a ventilator just because she knew I needed my dignity and didn’t want my hair getting tangled. Jenna, went above and beyond and took the time to get to know me as a human and answered all of my questions. These nurses and doctors saved my life and I am so thankful they crossed my path. Thank you thank you thank you.
I got sent from the urgent care across the street to that ER for severe pain I can’t sleep, lay down, sit or walk without sharp pain everywhere that had been going on for few days I went in there and after 1.5 hours the doctor saw me for 5 whole minutes and made me wait in the lobby for results for a chest X-ray and covid and flu test for 2.5 hours without any pain medication just to tell me i have muscle pain and potentially a virus. I was given a 12 page packet and nothing in there about the pain. Worst ER I have ever been to.
Excellent hospital with terrific staff. Couldn't ask for anything better after my cervical surgery with a wonderful and caring physician, as well as their nursing staff. My well being was in their hands and it showed at my speedy recovery from such a neurosurgery I had.
After spending an entire 6 hours waiting in the emergency room at Banner University on McDowell for 4 stitches on the left thumb, I unfortunately had to leave because life just goes on. After swearing that I'd never go back there again I went to St. Joseph's and they had me in and out in just under 2 hours. And they were much more courteous and efficient just as a hospital should be. I can't speak for other departments but if I ever have and Emergency needs in the future I'm going there. The ER is one of the good ones be sure to go there if any injuries suddenly come up.
This is by far the worst emergency room I have ever been to. My father came here to be treated for a bad case of pneumonia and being left in this hospitals care almost killed him. The staff left him in a room for 7 hours with no food, no water, having trouble breathing, not a single person came in to check on him that entire time and he had no call button. Too weak to get up and see what’s going on, I had to CALL the hospital myself to get someone to check on him. Came back a year later to get stitches for my fiancé who sliced his finger open at work. Took us 2 hours to be taken back, sat in a room for another hour, no pain meds no numbing for another hour, after numbing sat for another 2 hours waiting for an hand surgeon to come take a look at him. Took 8 hours to get stitches. Also watched them dump two different people on the sidewalk outside in 100+ degrees after being treated who then slept outside in their hospital gowns. Such a general disregard for human life. Absolutely ridiculous. If you care about yourself or your loved ones DO NOT BRING THEM HERE. This place should go out of business. Don’t understand how a hospital can operate under such horrible conditions.
