Grades Pre-K (4) through 8.
Founded in the 1850's, St. Joseph School educates children Pre-K through eighth grade in the Catholic Tradition. Our mission is to provide a positive learning environment in which every child is challenged to develop their potential: academically, spiritually, and morally.
SOLID START: The Pre-K (4) program offers five-day morning or afternoon sessions and follows the Archdiocese of Baltimore's Early Childhood Course of Study, recognizing the individual learning rates of children. Kindergarten students engage in a full academic curriculum including special area subjects and interactive learning centers that broaden and deepen concept development.
TOP TEACHERS: Teachers at St. Joseph School are certified by the State of Maryland, and most of them hold Master's Degrees or equivalency. The highly qualified faculty averages 22 years of service. Teachers of Pre-K (4) - Grade 5 are supported by Instructional Assistants. Student/Adult Ratio - 13:1
BEST PRACTICES: St. Joseph School recognizes the importance of educating today's learners. Best practices accompanied by state-of-the-art technology enhance student understanding of fundamental skills. Technology allows students to apply their knowledge and skills in a variety of medium across all subject areas. A strong langauge arts program incorporates phonics, literature, grammar, spelling, writing, vocabulary development and reading. Math enrichment classes, including algebra, are offered in Grades 6-8. Reading specialists, math tutors, speech therapists, and counselors are available.
PROVEN RESULTS: Catholic high schools throughout the Archdiocese of Baltimore consistently grant admission to St. Joseph School students and reward them for their academic excellence with advanced course placements and academic scholarships, totaling more than $400,000 annually in recent years.
