Mission

The people of St. Margaret's are members of the Body of Christ.
Empowered by God, we will work for justice.
Healed by the love of Christ, we will seek to care for all people and for God's creation.
Forgiven through the power of the Holy Spirit, we will create a diverse and inclusive community, through worship, prayer and love of neighbor.
We give thanks for God's many blessings and pledge to share our gifts.

"St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church is a warm place to renew faith in God, care for one another, and thrive in a diverse, LGBTQ-affirming, and inclusive community. We are a progressive church with in-person and online services, classes, and opportunities to serve. We strive to create an inclusive expression of belief in God’s work and love. In our worship, we take seriously the words we use to describe God and God’s people, recognizing that neither God nor humans are constrained by masculine, feminine, or binary identities. When encountering God in worship, we are formed and transformed to deepen and practice our faith."

I like this church , I’m not religious but I see these people helping others , homeless people , that’s is nice . Hope .
We have been parishioners here both in-person and online. It is a welcoming and warm community that we are so thankful to have discovered really by chance a few years ago! I'm grateful to find a place that is inclusive and passionate about social justice.
Visiting this church from out of town was a beautiful experience. Wonderful preaching, sense of community, and liturgy in an inclusive and welcoming setting. And one should not miss the remarkable stained glass.
St. Margaret's is my DC church. Their friendly staff and congregation are very welcoming and receptive to visitors. It is a joy to visit.
Friend and opening church. Felt welcome and the service on love and forgiveness was so powerful.
St. Maragret's is a wonderful church, with a very open, diverse, and loving congregation. It is an amazing place.
Beautiful service. Wonderful guest speaker.
Very open to everyone! Inclusive liturgy. Beautiful sanctuary with Tiffany windows.
Beautiful, historic church in downtown D.C. Parking is difficult, so take Uber or Lyft.
Great community. Not too big; not too small.
