This is going to be a beautiful monument when it's completed. At that point, Orthodox or not, make sure you pay this grand site a visit. It will soon be well worth it.

The stars are for the beginning of the rebuilding of the Church at Ground Zero. As I remember, St. Nicholas' Greek Orthodox Church was the only place of worship destroyed on 9-1-1. Plans were made, funds were raised, and construction was begun on what was to be a beautiful new St. Nicholas. It would still be an active parish, but it would also be available as a quiet place of prayer for all coming to Ground Zero to remember those who died there. Yesterday I read, sadly, that construction has stopped because of a lack of funds. I pray that, God willing, the work will begin again, and the new St.Nicholas' will still rise out of the ashes of 9-1-1.

Wish I knew more of why it’s so unfinished.

Its beauty is reflected by the buildings about it just as G-d's glory is reflected on his Earth. Calatrava's vision is nothing less then the immortality of G-d's creation

Beautiful design...both a womb for rebirth, and the Resurrection of life. May this brilliant Church stand for reflection and growth until The Lord returns.
