We love Dr. Abby. Our Tina Turner is a sensitive dog with some serious, end-stage renal concerns. Dr. Abby was able to mitigate negative effects of sedation when treating our TT by crafting a renal-sensitive approach to treatment. Our TT came out of the procedure with renal values that were the same or better than previously. Our Iggy loves Dr. Abby as well. Their insurance is also great value. We love this place- and particularly Dr. Abby!!!
Dr. Eric and his asst were very professional and kind during an emotional day. They came to my house for a in home euthanasia. I received flowers the next day from the team at St. Paul pet hospital so sweet of them
I have been taking pets here for years and have had many fantastic experiences. I want to highlight a recent experience that was particularly wonderful. My dog got sick over the holidays, and it caused me a lot of stress. Our first visit we saw Dr. Sarah and Merina, and I returned two days later and saw Dr. Jonathan and Gina. Everyone was so kind, caring, and patient with both Ozzy and myself. I was very worried and, therefore, asking a LOT of questions. These wonderful folks really eased my mind and took excellent care of Ozzy who is now feeling much better!. I also want to thank everyone I spoke with on the phone before and between visits, who were able to provide guidance as well as reassurance. I definitely recommend this place! And, if you are on a budget like I am, the Wellness Plans are a great option. Plus, staff are generally very understanding that not everyone has infinite funds, and are excellent at highlighting different options for your pet, including the need-to-haves and the nice-to-haves. I truly appreciate that St. Paul Pet Hospital understands that our pets are a part of our family.
If you have a cat, you NEED to go see Dr. Sarah. I have never seen my old girl so relaxed at the vet. Immediately upon entering she showed the both of us such kindness and compassion it almost brought tears to my eyes. It’s hard when you can tell your vet doesn’t love working with cats so this was the absolute best experience. Thank you so much, me and Pepper appreciate the love!!
We brought our elderly cat here when she got suddenly ill. She was up and down for a few months before she passed, but the staff here were nothing but amazing through it all. They took every question we had and even though they were very obviously busy they were always able to see us even on short notice. Even on her last day the vets were brainstorming ways to help improve her quality of life. I’ll always be thankful for their help.
To say Dr. Eric saved the day would be an understatement. He treated our 12 year old dog with kindness and compassion. We have been coming to St. Paul Pet for years and will be customers for life! Thank you Dr. Eric and all of the STP Pet team!
I have been taking my dogs to this veterinarian for the last couple years. Usually get a warm welcome not for me but for the dogs which is great and what should be expected. Today a veterinarian tech came out to get us did not even realize I had two dogs that were in the same appointment didn't acknowledge the dogs one time over the 20 minutes we talked never touched the dogs was very cold and just was concerned about racking up the dollars higher to get a larger estimate on things that I did not want and told her several times did not want or need. They say go with your gut and that's what I did I had to go because I just did not feel good bring my daughter to this vet anymore with a vet tech like that. I don't know her name because she was just that cold that she never even shared her name but I hope that they can find her training or something we are finding a new veterinarian
St. Paul Pet Hospital is a great vet, I used to come here years ago & the staff were always so nice and the veterinarians were very knowledgeable. A little bonus is that they are located in a very cute area of St. Paul, which makes the trip in a little more fun!
I’ve been recommending this place to everyone I meet for years but this last year I’ve been feeling really terrible about how this place has treated my pets. From test results not being communicated, feeling bullied into buying a MLM pet food to today where my cat in renal failure cannot be seen except for double the price and she cannot be given her fluids that she needs either. We are looking for another doctor at this point which I never thought we’d say. I wish this place could be what it was but the human element seems to be long gone. Edited: I just want to say they did help us and got what our cat needed but it doesn’t make me feel great that I had to post a negative review to get decent treatment and a call from their management. We have for the most part had great experiences here and most of the vets are fantastic.
I just want to say, these people are amazing. I have a small opinionated little dog who has a weird and yet undetermined health issue. Not only have they been understanding of financial constraints, but they have also been great at communicating with me and offering advice/feedback. Vets are strapped, they're burnt out, yet I feel like I am getting amazing personalized service. They have been great about referring me on to the U of M or AERC, and answering any questions I've had about the referral that they can. Special shout out to vet tech Brandon - who has taken a lot of sass from my little doggo - with grace & kindness to the little dude. Even when my little dog responds with grumbling complaints and some threats of teeth. At the end of the day - they are all humans, who are trying their best, and are allowed to not know everything. I'm a human, I make mistakes and learn more everyday.
