Great products all around. Fantastic options for everything. They have a freezer with the best frozen raviolis of all time. Don't miss the sandwiches. I once had a focaccia they had on hand but I haven't seen it since. That focaccia was top tier
Delicious cheese, knowledgeable and friendly staff, amazing local gem. They also sell caviar, smoked salmon, jams, crackers, pastas, oils, and lots of fine chocolate. Great place to get gifts, and a great place to get treats for yourself
The selection is terrific, and the staff is knowledgeable and kind. As someone who used to travel to Grand Central for cheese, I am overjoyed to have Stand Alone in the neighborhood. Check out the non-cheese offerings, too, from pasta to various treats in jars to charcuterie.
An excellent selection of international cheeses along with fresh artisan breads, cheese accoutrements and other interesting finds. Very nice owners offer a warm welcome and expert service.
Love the selection of cheeses and new rotations. Pasta and sandwiches are a hit too. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Congrats on 5 years!
Thanks to “Stand alone Cheese” for such an amazing plate of cheeses and cold cuts. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!!
Fantastic shop, well organized and clean! Huge seletion and very knowledgeable about the product inventory. As someone with an allergy to cows milk I can have goat/sheep with no problems it was wonderful to have such a variety of options! We made the journey all the way from SI and we plan on doing it again : check this shop out if you love all things charcuterie!
I stopped by this store on Thursday, December 21st to purchase one item I’d originally placed online for a pick-up order a few weeks ago. I noticed it’s a small store, so I actually walked in. The store is very small and quaint. I wasn’t greeted at all, in fact I walked in and said hi. Look at my picture, you can see my face clearly. I think the male owner and the female owner were actually surprised to see me, walk into their shop. The vibe inside was really off to me. They were helping a white woman, who purchased some goods and a white man walked in after me, they said hello to him and seemed like they preferred to deal with him. The female owner actually helped me but the male owner, with the mousy brown curls, looked like he didn’t want to bother with me. The entire experience is sad because had the customer service treatment been better, I would’ve given them a much better review since they had a few quality items. When the man gave me the bag with the items I purchased, I couldn’t say thank you before leaving as I did feel rushed. It felt passive aggressive to me, especially since they are a small business. I live in Brooklyn, so I would’ve made the trek out here to Queens since I actually liked the products that I purchased. Needless to say, I wouldn’t be back. I just didn’t have a good experience there. The shop is very small, I mean very small. It doesn’t look the cleanest either but because they are pretty niche, it seems to work for them. For me, nope. Won’t come back. Sorry.
This is one of my favorite cheese shops in NY! They carry a great selection of cheese, charcuterie and accompaniments. The owners and staff are amazing - friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about cheese. They also host cheese tasting classes! I highly recommend.
An amazing selection of cheeses and wonderful service. Many thanks to Stephan for the recommendations and patiently walking us through several options!
