So far I've experienced excellent care. I trust and love my PCP - Gabriela. I visit this place for Gaby, not Stanford. Shoutout to Bryan Wu physio for the excellent physio help . Folks who're having billing issues IMO are learning about sky high medicare costs because of low awareness and or lack of insurance coverage
Avoid at all costs. I went for my annual checkup which is covered by insurance. They did the usual checkup but asked me about any other problems. I told my physician and she spent 5 minutes giving me advice, stretches, etc. and recommended some over the counter pain killers. I didn't care for any of that since it was no big deal and knew it'd go away within a few days. Later I receive a bill and turns out that the short 5 minute consultation in addition to the check-up ended up costing me $200... I tried calling and messaging but they said there was nothing they could do as the short consultation was labeled under something that would not normally be covered by insurance. Incredibly shady and they didn't tell me upfront about any of this. These people tricked me and even forced me to get this appointment taken care of. Add that on top of how consistently late they are to every appointment. They will shame you if you're late, but every time I've gone I've had to wait at least 30 minutes after my appointment to just be called in. These people don't care about you or your health. They're not even courteous enough to show up on time on an empty day, so why trust them with your life?
I would have given it zero start if there is such a choice. Never go to such a "money sucking" place. I should have listened to my friend's suggestion - never go to Stanford Hospital, never! I went there for a preventive care service which should be fully covered by my insurance also guaranteed by Obama Health Care, clearly telling the front desk assistant and the doctor I was coming for a preventive care. They said they knew it and would do usual checking as suggested by the preventive case list. Guess what? One month later I received a big bill from the Stanford hospital. They added other medical checking items without telling me, and those items are not covered by insurance usually. Now they force me to pay the bill. So I have no choice but to be responsible for a service I did never asked for. Ridiculous!! Again, Stanford Hospital is a money sucking machine. The billing office is especially messy. Guarantee you don't want to deal with them. Leave away from it unless you never care about your bill !!
I visited the clinic for a couple of times and I was pretty satisfied with the service I received there earlier. HOWEVER, until this very recent visit to the clinic, I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED that I had such a bad experience visiting this clinic. After my first visit for getting a vaccine, the clinic made an appointment for me to do annual physical examination. When I arrived to do the body check for the second time, the doctor asked me did I feel any dizziness recently or any other physical concerns. I thought that was just a normal body check question, therefore I responded her with how I felt of my body. I thought that was it for the body check and left with satisfaction UNTIL I received billing payment that I GOT CHARGED EXTRA for diagnostic check when it should be just annual physical examination charge. HOW COULD THEY CHARGE ME FOR THE PURPOSE OF "DIAGNOSTIC CHECK" WHEN I WAS JUST THERE FOR ANNUAL PHYSICIAN CHECK???? I called many times to the clinic for the billing explanation, BUT THE STAFF WAS PUSHING ME AROUND. I wished there was someone to assist me with this situation, BUT THERE WAS NONE. DON'T COME TO THIS CLINIC, SUCH A RIPPED OFF PLACE.
Avoid at all cost,. I went for annual physicals checkup and they told its all covered by insurance and then they charge me 1000s of dollars. Very un predicable and all they want is your money as well as insurances money.
I love my dr here, by the way this is the primary care facility not the hospital... Dr Torres is the best primary care physician this 40 year old has ever had. I never felt like my dr cared so much about me. Yes there’s a wait to get in... the best restaurants always have a wait too. We have never received an unexpected bill, United health care insurance, just my usual co-pay, so if you’re receiving crazy bills, it’s your health care insurance not the drs here.
I used to go to a small medical group in Los Gatos. There I got used to wait for 10-15 mins in the hall, then another 15-30 mins wait in the room. Here at Stanford, my MD shows up on time. She is very nice, easy to talk to, and a terrific listener. The facility is new and clean and the staff are very professional. It is so nice to check the results online in a couple of days after a visit. It seems expensive, but I think it is totally worth it.
Although Stanford Health Care carries a name and reputation, I highly recommend that the average patient considers another health care provider. Earlier this year in 2017, I made numerous calls to Stanford Health Care and my medical insurance provider to ensure that the annual check up is covered as a benefit only to find out four months later of an excessive and unreasonable invoice. While my insurance and the overall health care system can be attributed to my horrible experience, I know for a fact that patients at Kaiser Foundation are not treated in such an inefficient and incompetent manner. I cannot wait for open enrollment to make the switch. Never again, I'd rather perish than go back to Stanford Health Care. If anyone is reading this on the provider side, let's get the process started to get me out of your system indefinitely. Unfortunately, I have to give one star, please consider negative ratings and note that I hardly ever go on a rant. Stanford Health Care is the exception.
PLEASE READ REVIEWS BEFORE GOING HERE! Got billed for medical visit even though I went for an annual physical. Getting charged hundreds of dollars for a routine annual physical.
Beyond pissed off with their customer service. On Monday March 5th, I had an appointment and unfortunately didn't make it. I called on Wednesday March 7th to reschedule. A Vietnamese lady confirmed my next appointment will be on Monday the 15th. So here I am, checked in at 11am just to be told that no appointment was made for today and that my next available option is not until a month from now. Are you serious? I dropped school and work for this mess?
