Star 66 Cafe

I can't believe I've not been to this local restaurant before. The staff was so lovely. They kept checking on my water. Very busy but still got our hot food fast and fresh. Try the cheesecake! Their menu is also pretty huge. Check it out in the photos.

Travelling on Christmas Day makes it difficult to find places that are open. It's a truck stop so it doesn't look fancy but the cinnamon french toast is awesome. Got the special with eggs n ham. Hubby had steak n eggs. Steak had a good flavor not tough. I would definatly recommend Star 66 Cafe if you are in the area. It was a full house here this morning

Ordered ribeye, green beans, mashed potatoes, vegetable soup and lemon cheesecake. Ribeye was chewythe 2 onion rings on it was good tho green beans and mashed potatoes were bland. Veggie soup was decent. The lemon cheesecake was okay.

Food was great. Large portions.. I couldn't eat all my dinner. Open 24 hrs a day which is fantastic. Crowded at midnight on a Friday. Waitress was very pleasant and prompt. We tipped well.

Was in town for the Brooks and Dunn concert at the Illinois state fair. Stopped here on our way home to Indiana. Food was really good wait staff really attentive. I recommend.

This place has the best ranch dressing! I love so many of their dishes. Breakfast horseshoe. 10/10! Even at 2am they are busy! Food is always the perfect temperature. I have never had anything that was delicious and filling.Recommended dishesSoup

One of the few spots open for Thanksgiving, my mother didn't wtoant to cook, one sister lives with mom, my other sister has a husband 2 toddlers and couldn't handle cooking, for everybody, I could have except I had taken a bad fall and broke my leg and crushed my heel so I couldn't stand that long trying to cook. The meals were tremendous, we all elected to order what we individually wanted and it was good food,good service, good time for all.

My husband and I had breakfast there yesterday. We were on a time crunch as we only had 30 minutes to order, eat, and go. Our food came out really quick. I got the apple cinnamon waffles. They were really good. Only issue with them I had was that the apples on top of the waffles were really cold. It was like someone pulled them out of the fridge and put them on my waffles. So I mentioned it to the waitress, Bre, saying they were good but I think they would be even better if the apples were warm. She offered to warm them up saying they shouldn't have been cold. Since I was in a hurry I told her I wasn't worried about it and I'd still eat them. They were still delicious even cold. A few minutes later she came back with a plate of warmed up apples for me and said she wanted to make it right. She was super nice! If definitely go back there.

Star 66 cafe has all the classic diner foods you want and then some. Food was hot and delicious. Ordered a Reuben sandwich and Fried Chicken. Very generous portions and both came with a salad or a bowl of soup. Definitely gets busy but they were efficient and kind.

Excellent service. Great food. They have a large menu selection. We had steak, fish, gyro's and were pleased with it all. The prices were very reasonable.
