A good ferry service, you can get discounted tickets if you need to travel more than once and crew and captain are polite.

Great experience. Got on last minute but was not rushed. The crew was very helpful and helped me and my family get on the boat no problem. Plenty of seating and very clean.

My wife and I have grown to prefer Arnold out of Saint Ignace for our trips to the Island. We enjoy the pace of the voyage as we get a little bit longer to enjoy the waves at sea, expanded views of the Mackinac Bridge, and you get a longer look at the Grand Hotel and other Mackinac Island landmarks on your way into the harbor. Something else we enjoy, which is specific to Arnold Transit, is you can actually get to and enjoy the bow of the boat, unlike their competitors, where you get stuck behind the pilot house - not so on Arnold. Riding on the old icebreakers back and forth from the Island is tradition and living history. Even after my military discount on a competing line, it still costs $4 more as a couple over Arnold. Two adults for $36 round-trip is a great deal for a pleasurable ride to and from Mackinac Island.

The jet boats with their huge rooster tail of water are impressive to cruise to the island.
