Purchased the most affordable machine $180ishabout a year and a half ago. Brought it back for the suggested maintenance, cause I love when things are not disposable. The maintenance was $100, whoa! But, they gave me one free maintenance withheld purchase, whew! I wasn't sure I would return for future maintenance, cause that is expensive. But, when I picked up the machine, I barely recognized it. All the marks on the top were gone, he replaced a hook that assists with keeping the cord tidy, it looked like they gave mesomeone else's machine! Honestly I could only recognize it as mi e once I turned it over and could see a mark on the underside roller that was familiar. Wow! If I want to do the maintenance myself, I have a steep hill to climb. I may have to bite the bullet and return for another fabulous maintenance job. Worth the $100.00! Thanks Stark Team! Ina
Besides the amazing resource of the Vacuum Cleaner Museum, Stark's is the place to go for filters, parts, and new vacuum cleaners. The awesome staff will help you with all your vacuum needs.
We bought our Miele vacuum from Stark’s in 2015. From purchase to present we’ve had exceptional customer service. We take it in for routine servicing every two years. The few times we’ve had problems with our Miele over the years, they’ve fixed it with timely expert service. I’m so pleased with our vacuum that I feel like I could sell Mieles myself. I highly recommend Stark’s.
Stark's is a Portland institution and while it may seem ridiculous that a franchise of stores is dedicated to the sole purpose of selling and servicing something most people, including myself at one time, couldn't care less about, I say get woke. A nice vacuum is an incredibly versatile cleaning *machine* and a good one can last a lifetime—Stark's will help find the right one. Regardless, the folks at Stark's are professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. On each of my three visits, Matt was my vacuum liaison, vacuum ambassador, if you will, and gladly answered my layperson questions with attention and patience even when I showed up 5 minutes before close. I'm impressed by their generous 45-day return policy which far exceeds the stingy 30-day policy Am*zon enforces upon its hapless proletariat. Even more impressively, Stark's matches or even beats Am*zon prices by default and has the equipment to test any machine in-store. I purchased a new Miele vacuum confidently with the knowledge I needed to make such a decision, knowing that I could and did easily return to address any issues or concerns, and assured that my investment would support and be supported by a local team consisting of real human members of my community and not serve to line the already-cash-rich, morally bankrupt pockets on Mr. Bezos' aristocratic trousers or fund the increasingly prevalent and brazen exploits carried out by his Am*zon Goons™ profiteering vertical expansion of his corporate-capitalist empire and driving swiftly towards economic insolvency of the American worker. It's v good, highly recommended.
EDIT 7/22: The company is not a scam. I received the masks I ordered today. They are good quality and work as advertised. The company threw in 1 extra to compensate for my negative experience I assume. So I've modified my review from 1 to 3 stars. Had an employee communicated with me before I wrote a negative review, the rating may have even been a 4. However, I think 3 is fair considering the nearly 2 months it took to receive the mask. Additionally, I believe they deleted my negative reviews from their Facebook posts and that seems shady. If I'm wrong I'll delete my review myself. While I'm grateful for their service during this crisis, which seems legit, I'm lucky I was not depending on this company as the only source of my masks. This is however the best quality and most comfortable cloth mask I've found so far. If you are not in urgent need and don't mind dealing with some spotty customer service to work stuff out, then shopping here is okay. 3 stars overall. 7/15 This company is a scam. I ordered 2 masks on 5/28. I was emailed that they were in the mail June 16. 14 days later after sending them a message I received an automated response saying they'd get back to me. All I got was another generic auto-response. It's been over a month since I ordered. 10 days later I send another email and get another automated response saying they'd get back to me. They don't. It's been a month since I was told "my mask is in the mail" and a month and a half since I ordered. They lied and have done nothing to fix it. Spend your money elsewhere!
Swung by yesterday to pick up some more bags for Miehle vacuum, and took the unit in with me to make sure that I purchased the correct item. I quite specifically told the clerk the vacuum was in working condition, but since my significant other generally frequented their facility, I just wanted to make sure I didn't mistakenly grab the wrong box, so I'd brought it in with me. The clerk opened it up to check the bag, said it "looked dusty", shop-vac'd it for about 10 seconds, handed me a box of replacement bags, and as I set my credit card on the counter, said "$20 for the bags and $20 because I opened up your vacuum to look at it, and so technically, that's an 'unclog'. The extra $20 doesn't bother you right?" I smiled and said "you're teasing me right?" He said "nope I'm serious that's what I've been instructed to do to make our owners extra money," and ran my card for $40. Absolutely disgusted. First off, the bags are $14.99 on Amazon Prime. Secondly, that sort of "SERVICE" is an abject, repugnant travesty. Very, very, VERY disappointed. We've spent thousands of dollars at Stark's over the years primarily purchasing vacuums for our own staff to use at our businesses and sadly, unless this situation is resolved satisfactorily, I will never return.
I very rarely feel compelled to write a review, but I need to help folks avoid this scam. I ordered masks in May and did not receive them to date August 8th. I received tracking for a package that never shipped in mid-June. I gave it three weeks and began reaching out to the email they dedicated to mask inquiries. After weeks of waiting without the dignity of a response I reached out again. Then this past week a third time. Now I feel I have to take even more time out of my day to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Save your money and your time and buy your masks elsewhere!
Unable to find an email to let the company know what I am looking for. Masks in Regular are only available in dark masculine colors. Unable to find what I would use. Until then I will not be ordering. This is a shame since I really like the product.
Since they keep deleting my facebook review I will post it here. Ordered five masks three weeks ago, finally received them yesterday. Zero customer support response to my email over a week ago asking about my order. They do fit well, nice and light, but they do NOT stop my glasses from fogging main reason I ordered, and are hot to wear feels like my face is in a sauna. They are also made in Thailand according to the packaging. I wanted to support a US local business but this is not it.
I ordered face masks from them. I found the masks to be too thick and very hard to breathe in. They will not refund for the unopened masks. I wish I had looked at their return policy before ordering. Buyer beware! I thought a “small” business would stand behind their product. You can find much more comfortable American made masks for less than half of what they charge!
