I had a tricky situation obtaining land use permits on a lot next to the Sandy River that had a portion of the property inadvertently mapped in the flood hazard zone. Several survey companies I spoke with had very little idea what was actually needed to resolve this and survey quotes were ridiculous. Zoning and FEMA are a minefield. A local suggested I call Statewide. Statewide provided guidance, got right on the project, completed elevation certificates for planning/building and then eventually, obtained a Letter of Map Amendment from FEMA to remove the land around the home from the flood hazard zone. Save yourself the time, just contact Statewide first and get your survey or LOMA project moving. Courteous and professional.
I couldn't have had a more pleasant experience with these folks. I contacted them for info on how to re-locate the survey markers on a property that I purchased that they had surveyed several years before. They got back to me very quickly with some options and ultimately helped me out with a metal detector so I could try to locate them on my own since the property was bare acreage and mainly undisturbed. They gave me a quick training course on how to use the detector and my 8 year old son and I set out to find some "buried treasure" We had fun and it only took about 2 hours to locate all of the markers. My son wasn't too sure they should be classified as buried treasure and I'm pretty sure he felt conned about my description of this adventure....., but he doesn't understand just how much those little rods in the ground are worth! In any event, the entire staff I met with from initial email to the wonderful women in the front office that make you feel like you walked into an old friends home, to the gentleman who trained me on the detector were all extremely nice and super helpful. During the closing of our house purchase, we found that we needed a flood elevation survey done; typically not a tall order, but during a time when most companies are booked out for the next three to six weeks, we needed it in mere days. I was beside myself with anxiety over the sheer impossibility of it all but began to make calls. When I reached Statewide Land Survey I reached Patti and she not only heard my story, but responded with kindness, patience, and empathy. She reached out to their project manager Greg and flood survey lead Eric and together they made a plan to adjust the schedule have the survey done two days later! Eric and his team got the work done professionally and quickly, but furthermore were able to complete and send over the report that same day by lunch time. I'm still floored by the amazing service and work their office and individuals produced on such short notice. But what I will remember most was the treatment I received during a time when I so desperately needed help. We plan to contact them again for further survey needs for our property boundaries and would highly recommend them to anyone and everyone in search of quality and professional land survey services.
This company was recommended to me from a friend and I can see why. They were very prompt in replying to my emails. I received clear explanation to all of my questions and completed the job earlier than predicted. They were organized, punctual, flexible in meeting my schedule needs, had great professional gear and were accurate and thorough. It was a pleasure working with them. I highly recommend them.
We had SWLS survey our timber boundary & we had a positive experience working with them. They are responsive and provided a complete description of the work they were performing. All the staff we had contact with were professional and knowledgeable of our job, I would use them again.
I was looking to get a Meets and Bounds done for an easement between my neighbor and I. Greg first told me his lead time and then looked up who plotted my land so he could refer me to the company that already had my boundary info to get me the cheapest cost. I would highly recommend Statewide. I appreciate their honesty and they’re willingness to help someone he doesn’t ever know.
We wanted to locate our property corners just for our own information. I called Statewide and the younger Greg explained all my options. One was to rent a surveying metal detector and do it myself. I rented one from him and when we picked it up, the older Greg showed us how to use it and gave us a lot of info in what we would be looking for on the plot maps that they printed out for us. We were able to find 4 of the 5 metal markers. When we returned the detector, younger Greg spent time with us to explain how we could find the boundry lines, even though we had a lot of vegetation to deal with. We would definitely use them if we had any surveying services that we would need. Also they had a bowl of candy at the reception desk.
Wow - was super impressed by these guys! Very fast response and communication, very turn around and tons of helpful details...and all at a great price. Used them for an Elevation Certificate for flood insurance. Wish every company in general were this easy to work with!
I called to ask a bunch of questions and the woman who answered the phone was very knowledgeable and helpful. Greg called me back very quickly and proposed an alternate solution that would save me time and money. All this during a time when most surveyors I've contacted don't answer the phone or return calls I assume they're all very busy right now. Very impressed, would highly recommend
