Steak 'n Shake

Great food, but one of the managers was very unfriendly and rude. Do not recommend going if you plan on talking to him. He should be fired. Kitchen workers didn’t move and complained about life loud enough for customers to hear. Maybe if they weren’t talking so much our food would’ve been to our table sooner. Also claw machine is rigged. Don’t recommend asking for quarters because they will say no as they sweat over your food. But food was great as well as the price and waiters. But the kitchen workers suck.

Impressive wait-staff, excellent prices, quick service while still creating quality food. The grounds were clean and consistently wiped down. Fresh-smelling restrooms. Quite busy when visited, but the experience was worthwhile.

Being from out of town, we have stopped here a few times while passing through the area. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. The staff is beyond rude & very, very slow. On one occasion, after finishing our meal, I stood and waited, and waited, and waited to pay our bill. No one came to the register, even though many employees saw me waiting. Finally, someone came, but, no explanation & no apology. Yesterday, we stopped in again. I told my wife that I hope I wouldn't have to wait so long to pay my bill, remembering the last time we were here. There were 2 people waiting to be seated when we entered the door. I saw at least 1 open booth & 1 vacant table. No one came to seat us. The people in front of us finally went & sat at the counter. Two different couples entered after us, but after waiting for at least 10 minutes with no action, they turned around & left. Finally, a person named Violet came to seat us. She barked, "Who's next?" No apology, no explanation for the wait, no smile. Just plain rude. Our food was good, but, again I had to wait forever to pay my bill. Long waits, slow, rude service, and absolutely FILTHY REST ROOMS take this place off my list. It's amazing it's still in business. It's too bad because the food has been good.

The truffle burger was surprisingly delicious and the mint chocolate chip milkshake was amazing. It was a great idea to stop for a quick bite at this roadside Hwy 65 exit restaurant at 11 PM. Among fast food, this is one of the best options.

Went here expecting a quick lunch. Took forever for the waiter to even get us a table. We sat down for 5 minutes waiting for someone to come. They never did.
