I am torn on this one. My steak was cooked perfectly with the temperature, but really lacked seasoning. The chicken and dumpling soup was very good. The service was a little slow, but our server got triple sat, so I am giving a pass here. The resultant could have used a good cleaning, there was dust on the back of all the booths. All in all, this isn't the worst steak place I have been to.
Nice family restaurant environment. Fair price for the decent steaks. First time here. My significant other and I were celebrating our anniversary. After a long adventure, we decided to try this place out. Environment and staff were great. Love the cabin feel, and history of the place. First glace at the menu, and we were shocked at the prices of the steaks! Then when the food came, we learned we got what we paid for. Starter was great! Got potato skins. Can't go wrong there. We both ordered the ribeye mine medium rare, hers medium. I ordered shrimp with mine. Both steaks came with false grill marks. The shrimp skewer presentation was lonely as it came on one skewer on a big place . Cutting through the streaks required a bit of sawing, and were fairly chewy. Steak seasoning were good. Silver skin was left on both steaks. Personally not a fan of leaving silver skin on. By the time we finished eating. It was fair to say the food quality is similar to Sizzler. We got a very cozy cabin vibe from the place, so it was still a good experience. I would say it's more of a family restaurant than a steak house. If you're looking for a good steak, this isn't the place. If you're looking for a steak easy on the wallet, this is the place. Features: Standard procedures
Location,;Good, Parking; Good, Service; Good, Price for food received; Good, Overall; This was a first time try even though this restaurant has been around for many years. With a strong customer base it survived the covid closures. The reason to me was good portions at a decent price. The Service was also good as they were attentive even with a good amount of customers. This is a place I will be coming back as long as they keep things as they are. The one thing I was not impressed with was the sauce used on the pork ribs. Not much taste but really sweet. A few tweaks would be a positive change.
I tried this place because it had many high reviews. I won't be back. The potatoe skins were good, not greasy and service was great. That's why I left a single star. I did get excellent service and i tipped well despite the quality of my steak. Now this ribeye, I ordered medium, was closer to well done. It was the most bland, unseasoned piece of meat I've ever had in my life. A good steak doesn't require steak sauce and sauce wouldn't have helped this. I had such high hopes, how unfortunate. Parking: The parking lot needs more lights!! While it's in a decent area it was soo incredibly dark.
It was our first time and we loved it. Service was great. Our food was excellent. We didn't have to wait long for our food once we arrived. We will be coming back!
We had gone to see the Christmas decor on Thoroughbred and were looking for a restaurant to grab a bite on the way home. We saw the Steer and Stein and decided to give it a try and were very, happily surprised. The food was delicious, the waitress was attentive and great. The food was out in less than 5 minutes. How they did that, we have no idea. But it was an enjoyable meal.
Delicious food, big portions, great service. Had a nice dinner celebrating a friend of the familia's birthday. No complaints from either the wife and kids, we all left with full stomachs and smiles all around.
My fiancé and I went there this afternoon. We got seared right away. We ordered the onion rings, rib eye steak medium rare with sautéed mushrooms and two sides of mashed potatoes. The onion rings were freshly made and tasted really good. Oh my goodness.... the steak was amazing. Each bite of steak felt like it melted in your mouth. The mashed potatoes with gravy tasted amazing as well. I highly recommend trying the steak on medium rare. I would definitely go again.
First time based on the way the reviews and photos appear online. We arrived at about 750pm closing at 830pm. We were seated right away.. Andrew, our server was the best! He was knowledgeable about the menu and bar options wine and beer. Being our first visit, we asked for recommendations from our server. We took his advice; I ordered bud light on tap & the hubby ordered a Modelo! The frost on the glass was like something in an igloo! Frosssttyyy! The dinners ....babyyyyy....my steak and shrimp w/salad and baked potato. The hubby ordered the rib eye w/ salad and baked potato. Steaks cooked perfectly! Potatoes nice and soft w/ just enough firmness to keep us happy ! The shrimp were kind of a disappointment because they were "regular/average" fried butterfly shrimp . Your 2 sides will consist of your salad and 1 side. So be mindful when ordering your "2 sides."The food arrived to the table....with....#SmokingSteaks and the entire meal sizzling! That's right....sizzling! I thought it was fajitas lol ! That was interesting! W/O an appetizer, we were unable to complete our meal. The salad portions were extremely generous. Salad dressings were cold and fresh! I know this was long....however...I had to say how I really felt. Peoples reviews were really mean and I couldn't be who I am if I didn't praise this establishment for what it presented yesterday. Ummmm with the sizzling plates, the bread was cooked to burn level! Oh yeah and the location is easy to miss! It's dark and uninviting! No parking lot lights and No signage was displayed or illuminated! Can't wait to return.
Instant Favorite! The hamburger was really good i didn’t have time to stop to take a picture!
