Stellar Painting and Remodeling

Stellar painted our whole interior of our home after a hardwood flooring project. They did a "stellar" job! They were very thorough with their prep, taking extra care with the newly finished hardwoods. And they stayed on schedule and communicated the whole way through. Stellar painted my exterior and re-stained my deck as part of a hail damage insurance claim. They also did carpentry repairs on siding and trim. They did excellent work in a timely manner. Very responsive and committed to pleasing the client. The work was so obviously good, we had a few neighbors comment on how good the house looked. Highly recommended.

Hired the stellar team to paint a foyer and stairwell for our two-story townhouse on a Friday. The crew subbed to do our work did three coats initially, which was standard for the color we picked. Unfortunately, three coats was insufficient to cover our walls. The crew leader left an hour prior to the third coat being finished on that first day, and I was left with the other crew member for the initial final walk through on that first day. The signature on the final walk through checklist was for the crew leader to sign, who was not present for the initial final walk through. The other crew member finished the initial third coat after dark, and although I could tell there was insufficient coverage, the crew member had packed up all their supplies and I was advised to just wait for the third coat to dry. Further, I had to ask the last crew member to vacuum, since that was what the contract with Stellar mentioned as standard, though I had to supply my own vacuum for the crew member to vacuum since they did not bring one. When we looked at the walls in daylight the next day, it was clear that one more coat was needed. We also found remaining tape that we had missed when doing the initial final walk through. I called Stellar the following Monday and they were helpful in getting the crew to come back out, but it was a hassle to coordinate another half day to be home to ensure the crew had access. To the crew's and Stellar's credit, they made it right, got the crew out for one more coat at no extra charge. I did also find that the crew's older model vehicle also leaked two patches of motor oil on my driveway after they departed. Overall, the paint job was satisfactory in the end, but the manner in which the job was executed was far from professional. We will think hard about calling Stellar for our next paint job.
