I just got off the phone wth the dentist office. My 1st question after being greeted was, are you accepting new patients? A: Yes! We are accepting and excited to see new patients, What kind of insurance do you have? Me: UHC COmmunity Plan, A:> oh no unfortunately we are no longer viewing new patients for this particular plan..... Dont waste your time with offices who are only willing to work with certain insurance providers due to the cost plans and etc, its sad that you look at filling your pockets, before providing assistance to the population. Always remember that if you assist and provide resources to those who need it, a higher power will reward you in ways you couldnt fathom. So as I mentioned to the gentleman on the phone, "Bless your soul" talk about discriminatino in health care lol, if i had the time to file a suit, you guys would be fined!

so my grandma results COVID was positive so they keeping in her hospital so I decided to get tested for COVID and my results are negative and hospital told me to quarantine I call this dentist to explain him that and the moment I was about to ask him to put the appointment another day after my quarantine time he rudely interrupt me saying find another dentist and hang up on me I couldn't finish what I was gonna explain to him he unprofessional , ignorant and rude 0/5 stars Don't go here. He's ignorant and rude. If i could give him 0 stars i would. So when i tried to remake my appointment he cut me off saying "No you cannot remake another appointment go find yourself a new dentist a hung up on me"

My stepson who is mentally disabled missed his appointment due to covid exposure and quarantine and now he called my stepson and told him " find yourself another dentist". Such ignorance from a so called medical professional is just wrong. Don't use this dentist.

I went to this dentist with very particular details on the work that I wanted done and how I wanted my teeth to look after the work and he listened to everything I wanted and did a wonderful job. His receptionist Kathy is amazing, professional and kind. I had to cancel a few appointments due to my sick husband and they worked with me and remained understanding throughout the entire process. I love this dentist and refuse to go anywhere else now. You will love the work, his expertise, the experience and most of all the outcome! Recommend to everyone and anyone!

I went to Steve Alten's office about two weeks ago for the first time and I love it! He and his staff are very courteous and welcoming, which is unlike many Philadelphia dental offices. Walking into his office, immediately you feel and know you are in a comfortable and gentle environment. The waiting room is unlike most in the sense that it has many magazines and educational literature to explore and not any of those two year old magazines that sit in other dental and doctor offices. If you are the only person with an appointment at the time you arrive, don't expect to wait long at all unless there are issues with your medical records or insurance that have to be straightened out. But then again, if there are others there, don't expect to wait too long anyway I'll tell you why later in this review. This was the only dental experience that I can say I truly enjoyed 100%. The main thing is that Dr. Alten and his staff are great people, very kind, sociable, courteous, and helpful with advice and suggestions. If you are looking for any dental procedure or just a simple checkup and cleaning, this is the place to go and Steve Alten is the man to see. I can say without a doubt, Steve Alten is as good at cleaning teeth as Irv Bruskin is at cutting keys his amazing hardware store is only a block away! As for the dental room, it is clean, it is comfortable with a HDTV to keep you entertained and calm if you are usually "scared" of dental offices or appointments, it is modern, and just overall the perfect atmosphere for both the dentist, his staff, and the patient. The greatest thing about the experience was that it was not only fast, but the job was done right! I never had a better dental experience, hands down! On top of all of that, if you are a well behaved patient, you get a free quality none of those store brand toothbrush. So, if you are looking for ideal dental work, no matter what it is, when it comes to experience, staff, equipment, and atmosphere/environment, Alten's office is the place to go, no matter where you are in Philadelphia. ----- Oh, and disregard any bad reviews. Those are probably people that just hate dental offices or have him mixed up with another dentist. Otherwise those bad reviewers are just rotten people that want everyone to accommodate to their every single need. You don't get a free foot rub with your dental appointment, that's just the way it works everywhere. Update June 2021 : Still the best, I hadn't been there in the past year due to COVID-19 concerns, but I just got my teeth cleaned because they really needed it and they look brand new shiny white! And it was QUICK and painless! Steve and Theresa are the best!

Love this guy, I highly recommend him to anyone. Very polite, courteous, honest and funny! He will tell you upfront whats the cost of procedures.

I have been to many dentists and I highly recommend this one. He took care of the teeth that matter to me and for once I am proud to smile and show my teeth. Very open and honest and accommodating scheduling

never see this man he is ignorant my brother had to cancel his app because he was exposed to covid and he told him to find another denist that he cant see him never go to this denist

Dr Alten treated my disabled son with the most disgusting outrageous DisRespect and Discrimination .My son is so sweet and pleasant .Dr Allen did not do Any X-rays or even do a Cleaning for my son .SHAME on you Dr Alten !!!
