What a wonderful little gem! We stopped in for a bite with a few team members after a long stressful day at work. It was exactly what we needed. The food was delicious! 10 out of 10! 5 star's across the board! The vegetarian & margarita pizza hit the spot for me! Everyone in the group had something different and I heard no complaints! The atmosphere was good, and the pinball machines were a fun distraction from the day. The only issue we had was the limited seating, we had to split the group up a little to fit. Other than that everything was great and everyone enjoyed it! If you enjoy a good slice of pizza and you haven't stopped by yet you should do yourself a favor and definitely give it a try.
Great pizza on the go by the slice! I got a custom one with sausage, pepperoni, bacon, spinach, green peppers, onion, roasted garlic cloves and olives. Worth the price for sure!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesDelivery: YesCurbside pickup: No
Lived most of my life in Syracuse, NY. I’ve been out in Oregon since 2018 and pizza is the one thing I’ve missed since moving. I’ve had quite a few places, they were all ok. Not this place. Everything was amazing, the dough, the cheese and sauce were all on point and made me feel like I was actually back home. Keep doing what you’re doing, I’ll keep coming back.
It's been 18 months of pandemic time since I've gone anywhere for a slice. When I was finally feeling confident-ish enough to look for a place for a weekday lunchtime visit, the searches I did for my old standbys showed that most of them are doing whole pie take-out or delivery only, and they generally don't open until 4 PM. SFNY indicated that they were open for lunch, and serving slices. I was happy to see that all the employees were masked, and that the space for visitors was well marked for customers to keep an appropriate distance from each other. As for the pizza - it was just what I hoped for. I had a cheese slice with just the right balance between sauce and cheese, as well as a pepperoni slice that was perfectly greasy, just the way it should be. Prices were reasonable, and, though I didn't opt for the '$5 slice and a beer' special, it was great to see it available. I'm still trying to avoid indoor spaces in general, but I'm glad to see that Straight From New York is available for pizza by the slice, while keeping the experience safe for their employees and their customers.
Totally hit the spot! Stopped in and got their 2 slices + a drink combo deal. Prices were just what they needed to be. Definitely New York style, flavor was delicious and crust was thin not to be healthy, to be delicious… pizza lovers know there is a difference. Staff wasn’t particularly friendly, but not unkind. Taste is a 5, overall experience is a 4.
Pizza is good. Maybe next time, as you handle the pizza, maybe wear gloves. I can bring some by if you need them. The garbage cans outside always look like this, every single week, it's not can collectors, it's the employees.
Watched two people walk out from line in front of me. I finally ordered two slices after waiting 10 minutes. They weren’t in the oven long enough to even be considered warm. No problem homie put them back in the oven while I finished filling my soda. Then he hands them to the people behind me in line. When I asked for new slices, not touched by another customer I was told there wasn’t anymore pepperoni, on a Friday night at 6pm. Big oof. This location has always had problems and I won’t be back. What a let down.
Really solid NY style za. Delivery by GrubHub which is always a crapshoot and no fault of any restaurant, and everything arrived as it should. Lots of good fancy pizza in SE Portland, but if you want NY style, they're the only ones doing it right. Will definitely order again and come eat in person.
Great pizza. My 7-year old’s favorite. Only problem is half the time we go in, there’s music blaring that is either vulgar, misogynistic or dropping the n-word. I would never come in here with any of his grandparents, cousins or classmates. Too bad.
The pizza variety never changes, and looks terrible, the people are not nice, and I turn around and walk out every time I go in hoping they have made improvements. I guess I'm insane for thinking this location will ever have good pizza or good vibes.
