This hardware store, despite all the Karen’s in these earlier reviews has been a fantastic hardware store for many of years. I have gone here for over 30 years and never had a single employee not come right up to me and ask how they can help me. There’s been times like now in the spring where anyone with eyes can tell they are busy as hell but still do their best. They are a smaller store but they pack as much as possible in this store. They truly do the best job in the twin cities as a hardware store. Even if they don't have what you’re looking for they even offer to order it for you which only takes a maximum of 4 days. I will never shop anywhere else because as long as you ask Yes you Karen’s they will always provide.
This is a great locally owned hardware store. There are a lot of products jammed into a small space compared to the big box hardware stores. However, this little gem will probably have exactly what you need if you’re a weekend warrior. I purchased pumpkins for $5 per pumpkin. Compared to almost everywhere else that was a great deal. They also will exchange propane tanks - leave them outside. Quick in-and-out which is great when you just need to get the project completed.
Kid working there said the product he recommended would work great. It didn't work at all. I returned product for refund and told him he shouldn't recommend products when he really didn't know. Wasted my time.
I searched online for something I need tonight, and chose this place. Made an order based on it saying it could be filled in 15 minutes. Waited and nothing. Had to go so I stopped about an hour later and asked. They didn't have it in stock. No idea when. Why have it listed online? And they were pretty careless and unconcerned about the situation. Like it wasn't their problem. Here's hoping they refund me.
This is going to be long, so settle in.... I, for 2 years, have been researching chainsaws. We bought some property in KY and well.... A girl needs a chainsaw.... I found online that Ace has a pretty good selection. I went into the one on Payne, where I was told, " If you need a saw, you have to go to the Suburban Ace and go to the small engine shop. " So off I went. Walked downstairs, and Bill was with another customer, so I fiddled. Picking up one after the other.. a young kid came down and asked if I needed help. I told him I was in the market for a chainsaw, and he said, "Hold on, I'll go get someone who knows... " This gentlemen walked down, pretty buff dude, muscles galore.... first impressions, right! I was so amazed by his kindness, gratitude, and overall willingness to share his knowledge with me. I really can be a very annoying customer and he didn't mind a bit at least he didn't make me feel like he minded so we talked saws for probably 25-30 minutes while Bill finished up. We had picked out the Stihl 211. . Bill gets done with his customer and then says he had seen other dude show me how to start it. Let's see how easy that is for you to start it.... dang.. it was rough... I just couldn't be fluid about it.. He said, "Give me a minute. " He grabbed the next model 211 CE and went in back, gassed her up and it's like he just knew I was going to take it, he started that baby up in the back and i just hollered... woohoooo! So he shut it off and brought her back out to me. Said try this one... bam! Just like butter.. no hesitation at all... I'm sold... But then Bill spent probably the next 30 minutes just teaching me. Teaching me so gently, so matter of fact, exactly how I believe he would have taught his own daughter! I just can't say enough about this experience. I made the right choice, 1. By going to Ace 2. Making the acquaintance of Bill and the muscle guy never got his name and 3. For buying a Stihl 211ce! I'm blessed, I'm grateful and I happy to have purchased such a great machine! God bless and Happy Chainsawing!
The staff are always friendly and helpful. Very convenient and well stocked store. The kids love the popcorn.
They had the things I needed with friendly service.
I have lived across the street from this location for a year. Every time i shop in the store i am ignored! Today i was instore I , was not asked if i need help. in fact, when i approched a Sr employee with my questions, he completely ignored me and asked the guy behind me if he needed help. I had to corner a kid who worked there and almost force him to help me. Even though I live right there, i will go to a big box store where i can at least help myself. Ladies, dont waste your time here! Our time is valuble as well
Not my choice hardware store. I was browsing in the store for 15 minutes and no staff acknowledged me but they acknowledged male customers. I asked for a quart of paint and they tried to get the machine to work for over 20 minutes before giving up. I ended up going to different local ACE, and the prices were considerably lower.
Picked up new snowblower employees help me load. Very happy
