This is the greatest restaurant I have ever eaten from/at! The food is prepared with expert care and the quality is second to none. I first ate at this establishment in 2006-2007 and I was experiencing great homesickness, I had never eaten Thai cuisine before yet when I tasted this food- I was transported to a deep sense of home! I like to say this restaurant is the reason I was able to graduate University! For- I dare not leave Ellensburg when such food was so near! Each time I eat Thai food at any other location or attempt to cook it, it is not quite the same as the excellence offered by this establishment and I will never not say- this is the greatest restaurant in the whole world! This restaurant is magical. Pure. Magic! Excellent food and great ownership. Thanks for being in Ellensburg! I do not travel west much- but when I do- I always try to stop here to eat! Sugar Thai- you are always in my heart and I love ya!
Update March 25, 2021 Came back in to give a second chance So much better. Enjoyed the appetizer, the main meal & the desserts. May 4, 2017 It was okay. I have had sooooooo much better @ other places, plus the place was infested with flies. Had to keep shooing the flies off my food. The BEST place for Thai Cuisine is called Benjarong Thai Restaurant in Monroe, WA IT'S THE BEST
Gonna be honest been coming to sugar Thai for year the crispy rolls have always been one of my favorite items but since the revamped menu price went up quality went down more than likely won’t be back half of the rolls this time are burnt and too hard to even eat. Once would be one thing but this isn’t the first time.
Got into town after a long drive with a car full of hungry people. Found Sugar Thai easily on the map and with the map. Getting seated took longer that it should have but they only had two servers. Time to get order was perfect. Food temperature, spice, and taste was as ordered and awesome. I really feel sorry however that the girls had to wear the Thai costumes. It only helped to give the place a small town feel. Overall we were very pleased.
This restaurant had good food and was very accommodating. I couldn't find anything I liked on the menu so I made my own meal based on what I like. There 5 stars is actually spicy unlike many places I have gone. They were a bit expensive for what I am used to. $30 for an appetizer and entree. Still good food and a great experience.
Thai food here is decent but not GREAT will come back because it's the only thai place in town still loved my meals tho!
We moved here recently from the West side of the mountains and were excited to see Ellensburg has thai food because we eat it almost weekly. Sugar Thai did not disappoint! We have ordered from them 5-6 times so far and going through the menu everything has been SO good. Great flavors, everything seems fresh, the portions are large. Very, very happy with this place.
I’ve ordered here before and unfortunately have had the same result. I explicitly say I am a vegetarian and ask for no fish oil/sauce and the staff understands and puts in the order accordingly. However, the cooks always disregard my requests so I will no longer be ordering from here.
Best Thai food we have had!
I have eaten here many, many times. The food is good. I’ve had the pad Thai definitely order it with extra cilantro, pad kee mao drunken noodles, and the lemongrass curry. My husband usually gets the masaman curry or noodles. My daughter always gets the chicken satay, which is a very generous portion. All of these dishes are good, but some are better than others. The lemongrass is phenomenal as is the pad kee mao. The atmosphere of the restaurant is not pretentious. It’s comfortable, too. I’ll continue to go back again and again.
