I get this company's service through my association so therefore I have no control over that. Never had an issue with these people until today. They cut trees and leave the branches all over don't even bother to move them out of the way or clean it up right away. They blocked my driveway!! I therefore had to throw the branches into the street to get it out of my way so I could park in my driveway upon doing this none of these workers came out of their truck to help me get it out of the way or even apologize. Their little phone conversations are more important. On top of all that they leave their tools on mine and others lawns when they take their break. Luckily I saw it before my dogs stepped on their SHARP tools.
Had them remove a beautiful but sadly dead old maple that we were sad to lose. I watched the entire process from my 2nd story window which faced directly at the tree. It was amazing to see a totally coordinate dance of ropes, different equipment, different guys all doing their respective roles. And they were moving with efficiency. I had no idea how much skill was required.
Horrible service. Please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. This company’s employees have no idea what they’re doing.
This company has issues with communication and responsiveness that affected my willingness to move forward with them. On Sept. 20, I called for a quote for a tree removal and was told an arborist would give me a call. I did not receive a call, but did receive a quote via email on the 22nd. It was about double the cost of a quote I got 4 years ago from another service, but went forward anyway as they seemed reputable and were more local. Upon acceptance, the website said someone would be in touch with me shortly, but that never happened. On Sept. 30, I called to see when I might be fit in and the office told me they did not know because the arborists set their own schedules and usually they are 3-4 weeks out and she would reach out to the arborist to call me. I called again on Oct 18 as it had been almost 4 weeks and I had still not heard anything. The office told me again that an arborist or the office would be in touch. The arborist Lyle called me back on Oct 19 and told me that this was the first time anyone had reached out to him that I wanted to be contacted and that it would be 3-4 months before he could come out to remove the tree. Lyle then patronized me by saying 'you are probably not familiar with tree removals and this is how long it takes'. This would be fine if this did not contradict what the office told me regarding timing prior and if he ever took 2 minutes to contact me prior. Additionally, the non-profit I volunteer at had trees removed recently and the wait time was under 2 months for removing over 20 trees, so I find it hard to believe that 3-4 months is an industry standard. Update: Got a quote from a different landscape company, it was 35% less and they are able come out in 2 weeks.
Sunrise took care of clearing our lot before we built our house. Did a very nice job. We had multiple quotes and they were competitive. They have all of the necessary equipment and skills to take care of anything.
Have used Sunrise several times over the years for my home in Evanston and each time I found them to be the most reasonably priced, efficient and neat provider. Each crew has been very thoughtful about how they enter our yard and their impact on our surroundings. It's really the crews that make the difference - so consistent even though they are different individuals each time. Highly recommend them.
Used McGuinn & sister company Sunrise both at my prior house for trunk injections to prevent Emerald Ash Borer and had them out last month at my current house to assess the trees here. Two-star rating is a result of the arborist initially not showing up for my scheduled appointment, without having called to say he would be late or need to reschedule. Called the office and was unable to reach anybody since they had closed. When someone returned my voicemail the next day, there was no apology or reason provided why the appointment was missed.
Did a great job removing a dying Ash tree that was hanging over our house. Actually used the twice, first time was to remove a limb over our home. Both times they performed the removals safely and cleaned up the work area really well too. Insured, professional, and I’d use them again if I still lived in Illinois!
I'm an existing customer. Called for a quote on tree trimming. Someone came out to look at the house over a month ago and I have not received the quote. I have called 3 times to get it, and they still have not sent it. I was forced to use someone else. And, no apology for not sending the quote - just, he still hasn't done it. Unfortunate experience.
Outstanding service, fair price, courteous and diligent work crews! Plucked a 45-inch-diameter six or seven-story monster cottonwood growing less than a dozen feet from structures on each side and made it seem as simple as if they were pulling up a sunflower.
