Nice efficient hotel with a few extras. The location and the price are great. Walking distance from restaurants, shopping, casino, movie theater. Price was $65/night which included taxes. The hotel is a little older but it seemed clean. Yes, a stain here and there on the carpet. No big deal. My room smelled and looked nice. I chose a single queen room. Smaller than some hotels but it had every thing I needed. TV, comfy bed, fridge, microwave, hair dryer, iron etc. Toiletries included. Plenty of pillows, towels, bedding, lamps & plug ins. Pool was COLD LOL. However a staff member came and cranked up the hear as soon as I said something. Very simple continental breakfast included, parking included, 24 hour front desk. Vending, ice, guest laundry, elevator.
I stayed here last night. The location was hard to find but I found it. Upon check in with a wonderful front desk clerk my fridge did not work in my room. I was moved and the room smelled heavily of chinese food, the carpet was dirty, an outlet was coming off the wall, and the tub had hairs all over it. At one point someone opened my door thank god I had the safety latch secured as they were unable to get in. I then checked the door and it did not lock!. When I went down to the breakfast room there was a couple literally making out in front of the waffle maker, lost my appetite and left. I will not be returning but for the price I guess you get what you pay for. I almost ate the cost and just left as I did not sleep due to worrying about someone else trying to get in my room.
Beds were clean and comfy. The night check in lady was super nice. And the pillows are SO FLUFFY AND COMFY. They also have good cable. Super cheap for a quick over night.Rooms: 5/5
Definitely not the best Super 8 in Iowa, no breakfast items restocked by 8am. Guest room was dirty. Food left in fridge from previous guest. Half a bottle of shampoo. Half a roll of tp and no backup. I did check the bed and it appeared clean.Rooms: 1/5
The daytime staff was great! Breakfast on the small side, make your own waffles, cereal and muffins. So plan accordingly. Rooms mostly clean but dirty hand prints on the curtains and walls, stuff was left under the bed from previous guest and pool was closed.Rooms: 1/5
I visit Des Moines once a month for manager meeting and have always stayed at this motel. All the employees are super friendly and very very accommodating. It is within walking distance of so many different restaurants. One visit I locked my keys in my car and the front desk went above and beyond to contact somebody to get them out, when visiting Des Moines, I won’t stay anywhere else
Our room was SPOTLESS! The jacuzzi was wonderful. The bed was beyond COMFY. The pillows were AMAZING. I was so scared at first when I booked but I am so happy I booked! Won’t stay at another property when visiting the theme park again. Will stay here from now on. Layla at the front desk was super kind!! Great customer service too!Rooms: 5/5
Was a great location. I ordered food to room and it was stolen after it was delivered to my door. I didn't even know it had been delivered until the next morning when I got a confirmation of its delivery. Other than that, we would stay there again.Rooms: 5/5
Overall I give it 4/5 stars. The location was perfect foe our adventureland trip and we could even see the house races across the street. The breakfast however was definitely a disappointment but luckily there's a Perkins next door practically. The room was clean and staff was nice. The pool room was clean and inviting. I definitely would stay again. Rooms: Clean room and beds were very comfortable. Walkability: It's in walking distance of adventureland and prairie meadows is literally across the street. There's also restaurants and an extreme cinema next to it. Food & drinks: Breakfast sucks. I definitely suggest planning on going out to breakfast
Not a 5 star hotel, but if you're needing a place to stay, this works. A convenient location and economical. Staff was helpful. There could be some updates done, but it's not as bad as some places I've stayed. All in all I'd stay here again if the need arises.Rooms: 4/5
