Great selection of Spanish food , Central America and South America. Best priced “Corvina” in New Jersey Superfresh every time I get the corvina a ceviche and sudado and couple breaded fillet is a must. Fruits and vegetables are always fresh, great selection of cold cuts and some fresh salads.
I moved to Bloomfield less than a year ago. I was excited to find this store. It was convenient and the produce amazing. I was shocked to find around Passover that they do not stock Kosher food. Not one item. They literally stock every ethnic food possible just not kosher. I spent 20 minutes looking around and asked 5 different employees where it would be only to be told they don't speak english I go to.customer service only to have the girl say what is that and sends me to the baby food aisle. When leaving I asked to speak to the manager. Only for him to look at me queerly as if he has never heard of a Jewish person. Stunned I took my items and left. I love the store. I just wish the items they carried were more inclusive and that I didn't be made to feel like an alien asking for an item. I may be back to change my rating hopefully to something better.
My 75 year old mom went to the superfresh on Belmont Ave. She made her purchases and was bagging her groceries when a manager passes by the register and asked the cashier in Spanish if my mom had paid for the corn she had. Other customers who spoke Spanish began staring at my mom making her feel very uncomfortable, but the cashier responded in Spanish yes. The problem is my mother is a dark skinned woman and they assumed she did not speak Spanish. I hope profiling individuals based on skin color/ race is not what is on trend in your store especially since you call yourselves international. My mom left your store feeling embarrassed.
This is the second time I've experienced bad products. 1st time was poultry . Two small chicken. They were not fresh. I couldn't use them. Today it was king fish also not fresh even smelly. I won't buy perishable products from them anymore
If and when they get higher quality products I will update this review. But at the moment of writing this, I can only give it 2 stars. No offense but half the staff don't speak English and show favoritism towards non Spanish speaking customers. Especially in the seafood department. It's ironic tho because that's what I like the most about this place. The seafood department is excellent besides the service at times. The selection is huge. And the prices are great. Only thing they don't have is lobster or certain crabs. As far as the rest of the store, the food quality is probably d or c grade at best and it is way overpriced. And I mean a lot of dollars more than other supermarkets. So be prepared for that. But they also have a lot of international products. That's 100 percent a great thing. U can find items from other countries here that u can't find in other supermarkets. So if u want good seafood and a large variety of international products this is the way to go. But if your looking to buy regular domestic groceries, this is the most expensive for the lesser quality items they have.
Their food is constantly over ripe, out of products, limited products, no staff on the floors who speak English who can assist you with locating items you have to walk all the way to the front. The entire avocado pile was mushy and over ripe.
I have been shopping here since I moved to the area, but yesterday I encountered the worst customer service. && I will be writing a review on their page everyday. The disrespect Teresa has towards paying customers, seems like she has no knowledge in her field. She is ignorant, racist, and have horrible customer service skills. I will be back to express what actually happened, and how their food is expired and they have faulty items. Sad part about it all is they don’t even take the time out to write the policy out on their receipt.. they place it at one register.. I suggest you buy no meat or dairy from this supermarket!
I went shopping and when paying I realized that they charge you a higher price than what is shown on the shelf, this is not the first time this has happened. I recommend that you be attentive and review the price that they actually charge you.
Staff closes the store at 11:40pm, but website says close at 12am. When another gentleman and I showed up at 11:45pm to get one item from pharmacy not to shop the security guard stated we close. We both politely inquired that we thought the store closes at 12am which he stated we have to count the registers so I can get home. If your store closed at 11:40pm that is fine but please change the store hours to reflect that.
For the people who are complaining about prices being high, you know that inflation is here and not going away!!! Great experience in shopping, I love the animals and bright colors!!!!
