This place would get a 5-Star rating if they hadn’t messed up our order in two different ways. But I will say regardless of not giving us the pizzas that we ordered, the manager gave the pizza they incorrectly made and then quickly had the correct made as well. This place is in a great spot if you want to get some pizza before a movie or a Thunder game. Prices are a little high, but I’d say it’s worth it considering the quality of food here.
Had the Sussy's Famous Fried Pepperoni pizza and it was outstanding! Great food and great atmosphere and our service was excellent!! Fried pepperonis are amazing!
Food was fast and delicious, the staff was Jonny on the spot, we wanted for nothing.
Wow! We loved this place! The salad, I think Sunset salad with strawberries and blueberries was absolutely delicious!! They were so accommodating when we asked if we could have something that was not on the menu - a grilled chicken breast smothered with cheese, bacon and sauteed onions, peppers, and mushrooms. Delish!! Great service from everyone. We will be back!!
We had an enjoyable dinner at a high top and I was glad to see that we could be waited on. Didn't care to much for the counter concept for dinner. We were finishing our wine and was disappointed when about 9 o'clock rolled around and the staff turned out lights then somewhat shouted over us about leaving and when they worked next. I understand they were ready to leave but I also know we weren't being a problem but felt completely uncomfortable. Seeing as how the restaurant is open until 10 this was pretty rude. Over all, service wasn't terrible but it could use some manners.
Okay... Let me rant. The food wasn't terrible, but I've had better. The service was my real peeve. Our waitress acted like she didn't know anything about the menu, if she's that new please have someone more experienced to train her. I'm guessing that this is a restaurant that is more order counter or on the go based than wait serving based. I'm sure that it's a lovely little place to just go, order a pizza and watch a game... But don't go there expecting great service. You will be disappointed. Oh yeah, what kind of place doesn't serve pasta with chicken parmesan? That's only okay if it's a sandwich.
Came here July 4th. Pizza was unique with their fried pepperonis. The manager was very unfriendly and rude. I sat and watched him treat several customers like garbage. Our waitress was very nice.
As soon as we walked I knew this place wasn’t going to impress. I’m not all about the finer things but they serve your drinks in foam cups at a place where they sell $100 bottles of wine? Nope. My chicken parmesan was like a chicken fried steak and I had to order spaghetti on the side for $5!!! Makes zero sense. Then my boyfriend’s “fresh” lasagna came out cold all the way through. They took it back and never even apologized or asked him if he wanted anything else! The waiter and the manager were rude and clearly had no idea how to run a business. The kitchen “cooks” we’re standing around giving customers bad looks and clearly not cooking. I’m so sad I spent $43 here. The only good thing was the overpriced bottle of wine that they didn’t make themselves! Andddd now they’re lying on the internet about their service, great job guys.
I had the lasagna and my dinner partner had pizza, and we both had trouble finishing our meals. So it's a lot of food. The style is definitely "Italian-American" meaning that it's heavy bread and thick cheese. I lived in Italy and although I sometimes like American-Italian food, it's not "authentic", i.e. what Italian people eat at home. I can hardly blame a restaurant for serving what their clientele want, though. I just felt what we got was very heavy food. Someone else may just love it. The service was good and the place was clean and well-kept.
I so looked forward to this opening. I had been a customer at Nomad II on N May since about 1985. Nomad had the same owner, and Sussy's is pretty much a copy of the same menu. There's quite a history to this lineage; check it out on google. Back in the 80's & most of the 90's it was my favorite pizza. The consistent quality of the pizza's was always a bit of problem, but in the early years, when it was on, it was incredible; it had a flavor that defied description, and I never really knew exactly what made it that good. There had to me some ingredients, probably in the sauce that was just amazing. But even when it was not perfect it was still very good, and I ate there with friends or family probably 2 to 3 times a month in the 80's and well into the 90's. To my disappointment the quality and taste, became less and less consistent as the years went by, and as you would expect, my visits waned as well. But even up until Nomad closed in 2016 I still got pizza there some. It was still good, and sometimes approached the taste of the old days. I was certainly sad to see it go, and that's why I was excited when I heard they were opening in bricktown under the old Sussy's name. Sadly, my first visit there Tuesday 11/8/17 was a huge disappointment. The pizza did not measure up, even to the later years of Nomad II. Although certainly similar an attempt at the same recipe, it was short on cheese, short on sauce which is one of the keys to the incredible taste of the pies, and there was too much crust surrounding the heart of the pie. I don't know if cost is part of this, but if it is, you guys need to raise the price enough to cover the cost of restoring it to the quality of the heydays of the 80's and 90's. Please, it would be so awesome to have that pizza back on a consistent basis. I/we friends and family are going to wait, probably a few weeks, and give it another shot. Hopefully the pizza of old is there on that return visit. But I will say that the pie we had yesterday, sadly, is not going to make us regular customers again. update after a second visit: Congrat's Rick, much improved. Now on par with Nomad. As I said previously, even as Nomad it was inconsistent but always at least very good, frequently excellent and occasionally incredible; more frequently incredible in the 80's and '90's. I would grade my pizza yesterday as a B+ comparing it to those of Nomad history. But this is excellent pizza, and I highly recommend it. That said, as one who experienced Nomad from about 1985 up until it closed last year I'd like to make some comments/recommendations. I had the fried pepperoni both visits to Sussy's. It is unique and outstanding. But, it has an incredible amount of pepperoni on it. It always did. I think even more now than in the past. It's really too much, and if you eat it all with the pizza it takes too much away from the pizza flavor . Now I'm not going to argue with you if you want to put that much on it. But I will recommend to the customer, that you take at least half and probably more of it off, and save it for later. Put it in a to-go box with left overs if you have them. They will absorb some moisture from the left over pizza, but just put them in the oven briefly and they will crisp back up. Put them in a ziploc in the frig and they'll stay crisp. Eat them like chips, perhaps along with leftover pizza, and they are outstanding. I would also try the regular not fried pepperoni, and some other varieties. I'm going to do that next time. When I took a lot of the fried pepp off, as I said, the underlying pie was top notch. Just a couple more observations/recommendations: I miss the club crackers and real butter. We also used the butter on the pizza trust. it was awesome that way. I also love it with even more red sauce. The sauce adds a ton of flavor to the pie. Also, there was something that sometimes made the pies of the 80's and 90's have an extra special flavor to them. Well I find myself out of characters, so I may continue this later.
