I'm shocked by this place. I wanted to spread the joy of their baking to my family in NYC for the holidays and ordered a sweet potato cake to be shipped there. For some unfathomable reason it was sent unrefrigerated, without any dry ice or ice packs, and arrived in several days to NY spoiled. What a complete waste of money, and despite several emails and calls, the bakery never reached out to me to apologize. Will be canceling the charge on my credit card, and likely won't even go back there in person. Quite disappointing and embarrassing.
Sweet potato cheesecake We found this bakery at the Sweet Auburn Curb Market and decided to stop by after lunch. Most of the cookies had gone by the time we returned, but luckily for us there was plenty of cheesecake left. We ordered the sweet potato cheesecake on the recommendation of the server and it was just terrific. It had an almost home baked feel, the flavours were balanced and it was not too sweet!
got some muffins at a farmers market tgey had a booth at. the young man was nice and orices great. I was told by multiple people I had to try the gingerbread kemon curd muffins. And they were indeed amazing! loved them bout more to send in mail to friend fir Christmas. definitely be going to the brick and mortar location. sooooooo yummmmmmmy!!
Fresh sweet potato cheesecake that did not have any or a lot of sugar added to it. Very good!
It was really a debate on whether to give the bakery 3 stars or 4 stars. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The chocolate chip cookies were good. The red velvet cupcakes were very disappointing. The cupcake tasted a bit worse than a mix. The frosting on the cupcake was inedible.
I like baking and I am actually quite good at it but I must admit that my numerous attempts to bake the perfect potato cheesecake have failed. However it is good to know that whenever you do not have the time or the experience to make something yourself, you can rely on someone else to have it done for you. Every cheesecake here is a masterpiece. It is a pleasure for me to be one of Sweet Auburn's regulars.
Painfully disappointing cupcakes combine rock-hard icing with dry-as-a-bone cake. Between the red velvet and carrot cake, it was hard to tell which was worse but it's one of the rare times in my life I wish I'd not had a cupcake at all. I've had better cupcakes from a mix.
The desserts are great! My favorite is and will always be the lemon chess pie even though I know the owner is famous for her sweet potato cheesecake. I also that they are no longer in the sweet auburn market. But actually on Auburn Ave.
DO NOT GET COFFEE HERE! I've tried my hand here as my go-to walking distance coffee shop a handful of times and it's pretty gross. It's as costly as Starbucks and disgusting. Also, the employees were basically just ignoring my friend and I as we were trying to figure out why the coffee was so disgusting. We had asked for one out of the three employees to refill the creamer we were the only ones standing at the counter and after standing and waiting for about 10 minutes she had to ask again what we were waiting on. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
If you are in the area and have a sweet tooth this is a great place to go. They have a wide variety of cakes, pies, cupcakes, brownies and other sorts of treats. They also have espressos and different types of coffees.
