Sweet Chalet in Hotel Captain Cook

This place is all about location. Lots of rooms and tall towers that really make the floors almost feel private. The view from the corner suite we stayed in looked down a major intersection in downtown Alaska and the mountain views that broke the horizon were just breath taking. Lots of great restaurants in the area and in the hotel. The pool and shops aren't bad. But the beds are just not comfortable and the rooms are very very dated. Even in the hallway My heels kept finding gaps in the floor under the carpet. The bathrooms for a suite are disappointing. I've had long stay rooms in major franchises with way more comfort, better rooms, and amenities. But none the less I had a great stay and will probably book again in the future. Can't beat the location and views after all.

This resort is the best rated in this area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you decide to stay here you for sure won't regret it. Nice hotel. We had good service and you really would be hard pressed to find a better location. Eazy walk to most things you might want. Only odd thing is the gym is segregated men and women. The restaurant on top of the building is nice with a beautiful view. Definitely a upscale place.

Gorgeous historic hotel, helpful, professional staff, stellar dining options, and a spa with European style amenities/ service. Not to mention that my large bathroom has an oversized bathtub, just perfect for relaxing after a snowy day in Anchorage. You will enjoy this gem and the many amenities that you will discover inside.Rooms: 5/5

Such a wonderful place to stay on our trip. The valet staff are so friendly. We got several recommendations for food! The front desk staff are accommodating and got us taken care of quickly. The restaurant was good. Just a really great place to stay!Rooms: 5/5

Very nicely appointed accommodations. Nothing unexpected, unique, or differentiating. Exactly what you would need for a comfortable stay. Downtown location, close to a few eatery’s and shopping locations. Spa is bare bones. Not made for indulging n relaxation but for the order of the day. Pool area is a bit depressing. Only one lounge onsite. Breakfast spot available and choc shop.

Easy front desk check in. Comfy & clean room with coffee , water, small fridge. bathroom stocked with the usual kit, hairdryer....even had Qtips & a magnify mirrornext time i wont have to pack mine !! Didn't notice any vending machinesdidn't ask/didn't need anything but ice machine was at end of hallway. Room service available with lots of options. close by covered/safe parking or you can use Valet. Gift shops, lounges, restaurants & cafes all inside hotel if you find yourself not wanting to wander out. When you do wander out it's a short walk to a multitude of shops, restaurants & venues.

We were on a Princess Alaskan cruise and this is the hotel Princess put us up in. It was VERY nice! Several restaurants, right in downtown Anchorage, so great for seeing the area. I would definitely stay here again if I were choosing a place to stay.Rooms: 5/5

This place deserves ten stars! If your a local the rooms are 50% off, just ask them! Bring your ID for verification. The room service is amazing. Expensive, but worth it for the expirence alone! The valet people are wonderful. Front dest was so sweet and accommodated everything we needed for my special needs child. We will definitely be back.

Comfortable hotel. Appreciated their attention to detail and services. Staff very polite and helpful. Could leave luggage as arrived early and room was not ready. Room large and in centre of town within walking distance of most things.Rooms: 5/5
