Cassidy’s is a breakfast and lunchtime spot in the tunnels frequented primarily by people working in downtown Houston. They offer several kinds of breakfast tacos for breakfast until 10:30 am and a lunch menu that includes salads, quesadillas, burgers, and seafood with an emphasis on catfish. It has a relatively spacious dine-in area compared to most restaurants in the tunnels, though the place is a bit haphazardly decorated by random Houston jerseys interspersed with old Life magazine covers and photos with almost all of the above being poorly framed and many showing water damage. I stopped in at around 12:30 pm to find the place with several people but not overly busy. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and made it a combo with fries and a drink onion rings, and sweet potato fries are also an option in lieu of regular French fries. My order came out relatively quickly, and I was impressed by the quality of the food. The burger, while not being absolutely amazing, had a good flavor, with the fresh sourdough buns being of particular note for their freshness, taste, and texture. The fries were also delicious with a fresh texture that got the mix between crispness and sogginess just right. Additionally, as I dined, one of the managers or owners came around to ask how everyone’s food was, which is something I do enjoy seeing. That said, and subpar decorations aside, the main detractor for me was price. The cost to upgrade a burger to a combo is $5.50 - more than half of the cost of the burger itself. I can’t ever remember a restaurant charging so much for fries and a drink. While I did enjoy the fries which were of good quality, they don’t justify such an enormous up charge, and is not something I think I would pay for again. So I can say that I will definitely return here in the future to try out other burgers as well as items like the tacos, quesadillas, and catfish, and I do recommend it as a decent lunch spot. Unfortunately, the shoddy decorations and combo prices means it only warrants 4 stars, rather than a full 5.

Pepperjack Avocado Burger...go get it. You'll thank me later! Fresh buns, delicious meat and homemade pepper jack cheese. Best hurgers out there!
Absolutely love this place and the team that works here. Burgers, grilled chicken, chicken tenders, fried catfish, Mexican plates, & the VERY best onion rings in all of downtown Houston. Thrilled to know that they've been able to hold on and SO very worth stopping in for lunch or breakfast!
Tried their Mexican breakfast taco with hash browns. The service was quick. Flour taco was stuffed with scrambled whole eggs, jalapenos and onions. Sauces were good too. Hash brown was a patty, which tasted fresh. Food was served hot and tasted good. The manager owner lady asked me, how the food was and friendly with other customers. Will definitely return for breakfast and will try their lunch menu too.
I had the mushroom Swiss burger and onion rings. The burger was good; the meat wasn't anything special, it's flavor didn't really stand out, the toppings were great, and the sourdough bun was awesome. The meat was a little more dry than I normally like. The onion rings were great! The service was fast and friendly. There was no line when I went, but my lunch was a little bit after the typical lunch rush. The restaurant is pretty dimly lit, which is a little annoying, and the bare concrete floors don't quite have the industrial look that they were maybe going for.
Nice casual lunch joint. Had the grilled chicken sandwich with onion rings. The chicken was flavorful and cooked just right right! Sandwich was topped with grilled onions, cheese, and mushrooms. The bread was excellent! Soft and a little sweet. Thought it went well with the chicken. I also recommend the onion rings. Super good breading and while it might be a little on the greasy side, remember it’s fried food.
Most of the food is great and staff are super cool. Onion rings are always dough-y and feel like they needed to fry for longer. Orders take a little longer than I like but it’s really good food so if you have the time then yeah do it! Edit: edited a typo.
Think awesome service, tasty food, unlimited salad bar!!! I got the 1/2lb ribeye burger well done on a jalapeno bun with onion rings and my tastebuds were in joyland. Cooked to perfection, freshly prepared and wonderful. The lady at the counter had excellent customer service skills and explained everything well. I'll definitely be going back here more often. My friends got the 1Double Veggie burger with fries, 2Chicken sandwich with grilled mushrooms, 3Grilled Chicken Platter 4Regular 6 oz burger and they all looked amazing!!!
We had the 2 Bun Breakfast’s and coffee. It was absolutely delicious. Dug in and forgot to take pictures. Would absolutely recommend it, and try the two salsas available too!
