Switching Gears Bicycle shop put together my Salsa notch cues 10 within a couple of hours. This establishment will be my go to place for all custom orders and routine needs. Amazing people providing excellent customer service to cyclists near the ocean front.
Just left the shop with two bikes, Mark and Brian are absolutely fantastic!!! Great customer service and they are both very knowledgeable. Very patient and friendly. On top of all that there is a one year service warranty. Very glad we made the decision to go there. Highly recommend!!!
Mike and Brian Thank You!! I brought three bikes in with various issues to get them ready for the kids. I also brought in my 28 years old Trek mountain bike that it is very special to me and they did an amazing job. They brought my Trek back to life and it looks just like new. They completely renewed all my components, brakes, seat, tune-up and more for an amazing price. Professional customer service, honest, friendly and knowledgeable. I am super happy with the work. Thank you guys!! This is where I will bring all my bikes..
Fantastic bike shop with a great selection of bikes. If they don't have it or can't order it you don't need it. Even better then the bike and accessory selection is the personality of Brian and Mark. What a team! Mark is a technical expert, owner, highly intelligent bike and mechanics lover to the highest degree and Brian brings the fun, personality, sales, and passion for bikes. A great dynamic. A great team. A great bike shop. Don't go anywhere else.
These folks are legit! They really care about helping the customer solve their problem without trying to sell you on anything you don't need. this practice is what will keep me coming back I purchased a Surly rear rack and some new grips. The included upper struts were too short so I phoned to see if they had the longer ones in stock. They didn't just give me a, "no, but we can order them," they went beyond. They searched around the shop, found another rear rack that had the longer struts and allowed me to purchase those while they ordered replacements to backfill that other rear rack. Additionally, to help others, I purchased rubber "door bumper/stops" from Ace Hardware to cap off the upper struts and 3/8" flat faucet washers to use as a spacer between the lower struts and the bike so I didn't have metal on metal contact.
Me and my Girlfriend wanted to fix up our vintage beach cruisers. And Switching Gears took care of us. We are so thrilled with their service and care of our bikes. We are beyond thankful for Mark and Brian. The best in the business. Thanks again. Would totally recommend them to anyone
Great bike shop! It's nice to deal with a smaller shop where you're acknowledged and taken care of. Went to Switching Gears on Sunday and left with a Jamis Earth Cruiser, exactly what I was looking for. Brian was extremely helpful - customer service is tops.
I came in last minute to get my bike looked at because it was shifting weird after not riding it for years. Brian immediately put my bike up on the work stand and figured out the problem on the spot. I was lucky they weren’t busy, but even if they had been i would have been happy to leave it with them due to how personable and dedicated Brian was. Incredible experience and I will absolutely be back.
The hype is real - I took two Trek mountain bikes in for service and Brian took great care of me and the bikes. From the first phone call through dropping them off, text updates and picking them up, the entire experience was a model of great, efficient bike and customer service. I was in town camping and they got the bikes in and out in a short time period and every issue was addressed. The bikes are smooth and ready for the trails. I called multiple bike shops on our travels of the past few months and Switching Gears was the first that could help us in a timely manner, and the absolute best at communication. I highly recommend them and will return next time I'm in town.
Was able to free up some cash lately and I went a little bike crazy, after my ruckus accumulating a Specialized Cruiser and three Cannondale e-bikes and finally the Surly Ice Cream Truck fat tire. The Surly Ice Cream Truck is the one I got through Switching Gears, and is non-coincidentally my favorite It was such a refreshing contrast to have real, personal conversations around what kind of bike I was looking for and what’s available — all the while speaking plainly and with generosity about what’s possible. After some helpful talks they ordered in the last Ice Cream Truck in Medium that they could find and built it in no-time. Mark and Brian do make a great team. Probably my favorite aspect of the experience was how non-transactional it felt — picking out last-minute bike add-ons and watching them install it in real time and with great care as we kept the conversation going. Now this is how I like to do business. I’m not a cog. Hope to have many more positive experiences here, both with ongoing repair and purchases! Thanks Guys.
