My family and I tried to rent a house from TA, apparently owned by the business owner himself. We were contacted by two separate agents, which was confusing and seemed disorganized. The agent was friendly but seemed more interested in flirting with the current tenants who were present during the showing (very uncomfortable for me).
The basement floor was completely destroyed by a flood and when asked if he’d repair the hazardous and mouldy laminate, the agent told us the owner, Tom, was not willing to do so - first red flag of slum-lordship and potential issues to come. Despite this, we decided we would be willing to replace the floor on our own dime and set up another viewing with the agent. He texted to cancel within an hour of the appointment time with no explanation. Rescheduled for the following day, we waited for 20 minutes in the freezing cold and he didn’t show or answer our calls. The next day I called their main office and asked if another agent could show us the house; the receptionist just said no and that I should keep calling the agent until he got back to us. Not very customer-centered practices... and although I was very polite, she was short and seemed to blame me.
Heard back from the agent after I sent several texts and messages, who claimed he lost his phone. I’m not sure why he wouldn’t have his schedule recorded elsewhere or why head office was never made aware of this, given that it’s his professional responsibility. He told us the house had been rented by another agent, yet it’s still available weeks later. Definitely dodged a bullet with this company - total lack of customer service, unprofessional, and zero pride in ownership. Will not deal with again.

Very poor management. Apartments are not kept up. Many pest infestations in one particular building. Unresponsive/neglectful landlord who was only available 2 or 3 days a week. All problems were addressed very slowly. Would 100% not recommend.
All and all it was just a very bad experience with Tom/TA property management. Also the secretary is extremely rude and not helpful at all.

Tried to rent an apartment from their agent Cory. When I first called he said the apartment was available (as it was listed on their website) and to send him a text as he was jogging and he'd get back to me by the end of the night. Two days later I message him again if there's any update- I still don't hear back so I call the management company themselves and leave a message asking if they know what's going on (no response, though it was a Sunday afternoon). I finally hear back from Cory asking if I'm interested in the unit available for September, I reply yes, and THEN he proceeds to tell me that someone applied for the unit a week ago? When I could have spend a week looking more seriously at other locations?
It seems to me there is absolutely no communication between management and their employees. Even when Cory said he'd find out for sure if the unit was rented that he'd respond later that day or the next morning. It wasn't until this evening that I got a response. Though I'm sure he was 'just doing his job' the whole experience is proof enough to me that this is not a well managed company, to trust the reviews, and that I will not be trying to rent from them again.

I am SUPER confussed what the hell all of you are talking about. Tom has always been helpful, understanding and respectful to myself and my children living here. If any of you understood how many properties are involved to look after, you would understand how tricky things can get. I am a previous landlord of multiple properties so i understand the difficulties. Staff and tenants come and go. Ive personally seen many tenants in TA's properties that are down right ignorant. They think they deserve treatment immediately, not having any curtosy or understand there are only so many maintenance people for properties. Tom is one person folks. He cant deal with 50 people at one time. Especially when there are certain tenants-almost daily, that harass the office over things that are nothing to do with him or his staff.
I have lived here almost 5 years(i think?). When i had an emergency from an upstairs neighbour flooding my bathroom at almost 9pm, plumbing came over immediatly and sorted it. Last night i called and left a message at 7pm that my kitchen sink pipe had cracked and i am waiting for a reply. I didnt freak out and call maintenance at 7pm on a Sunday evening(who wants to work at that time?) Out of the respect for maintenance and their families i told them it could wait till today. The world doesn't revolve around each tenant. Perhaps its the way you are dealing with matters? Dont blame Tom for a rental agent issue. Blame the agent.
As for the people making up bad reviews(i know who u are-you have done this in the past for no reason) get a life. Dont slander the company because you cant let go of things.

My kitchen sink was properly fixed by just after 4pm the same day. I recommend some people speak more respectively to Tom or maintenance and things will get taken care of instead of playing phone tag and coming online trying to damage the reputation of a business. You are treated the way you treat people.

Do not rent from this place. Awful and SO RUDE! It is impossible to get ANY repairs done and everything ends up being at your own expense and tom refuses to rectify the situation or help get any repairs done he just sends you a number to do yourself. Management? More like scumbag who sits on his ass. Be prepared to spend a ton of your own money because they will not help you or meet their end of the rental agreement.
