This was my first time trying Ethiopian food and it was SO good. Everything had distinct and amazing flavor. Our sever was super sweet and brought us more injera the spongy bread when we needed it. Such a great dinner for a pretty decent price. Very satisfied customer
Awesome locally owned Ethiopian food. Owners are friendly, food was hearty and delicious, restaurant atmosphere is casual and relaxed. Neighborhood is just somewhat walkable but looking forward to coming backRecommended dishesInjera
First time having Ethiopian food. Definitely an interesting experience! Instead of utensils, you use the injera to pick up the toppings. I’m not sure what it’s supposed to taste like but I imagined it being more spiced and aromatic. It was okay. Maybe I should try it again elsewhere, but I’m not a huge fan. We also got sambusas to go. Those were a lot better as far as flavor goes. Service was very warm too.
The food was great, but the wait time was long. The overall cleanliness also left a bit to be desired. We switched tables because there was a little gunk on the booth seats. The other table also had really low chairs for some reason, where we both sunk in and felt like children or hobbits at the table. As mentioned, the food was great and, quality-wise, has no complaints from me side note: water is a bottle of Deer Park. However, when we ordered some extra Injera to go, as well as when we handed them our payment, it took another 20 mins or so to get everything back. Mind you, this is not a big place, and it wasn't packed. We reminded our waitress, but she seemed to have completely forgotten our credit cards and our injera. After some time passed, we left and walked back home, satisfied by the food, but disinclined to come back for another experience. Food: 4/5. Overall: 3/5. Vegetarian options: My friend is vegan and gluten-free, and she had suitable options available.
The food was delicious! Two other friends and I got the Baltimore platter, which is meant for two but it filled the three of us up. The service is also good, and the restaurant has a nice vibe.Recommended dishesLunch Special Platter
Pros: The meal was delicious and fresh. Was our first time trying Ethiopian and was not disappointed in the vegetable sides and how seasoned the lamb was. Cons: while the waitress was nice, the service was very slow for a Saturday evening with not a full house bartender had to step in to serve tables. Also the actual location could be spruced up a bit... Don't expect fancy but more low key. Also the bathrooms could have used some deep cleaning.
I liked it here, it was my first time eating ethiopian food. We ordered The Baltimore good for 2people and there was a lot of left over still. Very filling and i loved the injera bread. Place was spacious and had good music. This place was recommended by my coworker Yohannes who said he knew the owner of the place will definitely go back. I went on sunday so, i was able to find parking pretty easy.
I absolutely love this place! My boyfriend brought me here for a new and cultural experience and it was amazing. The Atmosphere was very welcoming, full of smiling faces, and our server is always pleasant. The food was great and very nourishing as a vegetarian. I highly recommend the yellow split peas and cabbage.. AND THE HOUSE Honey Wine. I really enjoyed myself.. in fact, so much that I went twice in the same weekend. Very friendly, affordable and a breath of fresh air for a dinner date. Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian platter with 5 or 8 sides and a fish as well; but offered in the meat menu. Parking: Parking is a little scarce because of it's location but you may have to park at least a block or two away. You are downtown, so you will encounter sights for an enjoyable walk. Dietary restrictions: Everything is 100% gluten free, unless asked different for a small fee.
Tabor is the best Ethiopian food I had so far! Very delicious and heartwarming. Food tasted exactly like back home. Customer service was perfect. I would definitely recommend anyone who wants to try Ethiopian food and be provided with great customer service.
Delicious meal and friendly staff. I shared the Baltimore platter with a friend and it was more than enough for the two of us. The food was excellent! I'd highly recommend it!
