Great park for kids of all ages! The park is right by the library and various sport fields along with basketball court. The playground is nice as it has an area for various ages. The walking path around the park is not too long and not too short either. The benches around the playground are nice as it is usually in a shaded area. They also have plenty of picnic tables around. Also a dog park here as well!
Went to the dog park there for the first time this year and was very disappointed. It looked like it hasn't been maintained in months, especially the small dog side. There's clumps of grass, weeds and vines growing on the fence. Hopefully they clean it up sometime soon cause it really is a great dog park.
We have had many good experiences at this park, but I wanted to share some information about some recent events that I have found to be unnerving. This morning I took my dog to the park around 8/8:30 am. It seems like the group of people there this morning are regulars; most of them knew each other. A dog and its owner started to enter the Park this morning. As they entered, two other dogs began to become aggressive, and one of them attacked the other dog by grabbing them by the neck. The owner quickly responded and leashed their dog, but the dog continued to try and lunge at the other dog. Thankfully, the other dog was not harmed. I’ve noticed other dogs with aggression as well. There were two occurrences with two different dogs that caused me to leave the park. Two dogs went after my dog, rolled her on her back, and started to bark at her and nudge her, and grabbed her by the neck, which resulted in her yelping out in pain. I quickly intervened before it escalated. I understand that dogs can play rough, mouth each other, and bark at one another. But, there is a difference between play behavior and aggression. I've seen this happen with other dogs as well, owners intervening and leashing their dogs when they become aggressive. If your dog has aggressive and unpredictable behavior, please DO NOT bring them to a dog park. We have been coming to Talley Day for over 14 years off and on. 90% of the time, there are no issues. But I have become increasingly uncomfortable with the behavior I have seen. Long story short, if you bring your dog to this park, please be hyper-alert and aware of other dogs' behavior around your dog. I would hate for any dog to get seriously injured
Had a grand ole time socializing my companion and sharing best practices with owners and getting to know some regulars. I do wish there were playground equipment for them as well. Especially the smaller ones. XO We enjoyed our day at Talley Day Park.
Nice park. Playground, dog park and trails. This park is located in a nice area and has plenty of parking. The trail is a nice little walk and suitable for all ages.
Tennis court with pickleball lines. Lots of intense pickup basketball. Approx. Half mile walking path with view of beaver pond frequented by herons and geese, and home to goldfish and turtles. Playground: Playground is great for 3 - 8 year olds. Restrooms: Portapotties and running water. Dog-friendliness: Well used, large dog park with separate areas Picnic area: Picnic tables under roof, can be reserved for family groups or parties
A wonderful dog park with separate pens and a great community. Need to fix the water fountains though, and one of the benches, hence the 4 stars
Very nice walking trail, a good portion of it shaded. Clean, quiet and not crowded. My kids loved seeing a deer, turtles and fish in the pond.
My dog loves this dog park. The dog owners are super nice. 2 areas available one for small dogs and another for big dogs.
Geocaching at the park. Check out dog park and start to acclimate the dog to doggie park and smells. Great walking trail and busy playground since the weather was so nice the other day.
