Stopped by b/c 1, 2 Thai was closed for the new year holiday and this was close geographically, but sadly, not experientially. I really hate to give unflattering reviews, esp b/c the lady at the counter was so friendly. The meal started out promisingly with a papaya salad. That was actually great. Then the main dishes arrived and both failed to impress. One was the satay plate; however, the meat was deep fried instead of broiled resulting in it being dry and difficult to chew. The other main was “bbq chicken” but we decided not to eat it b/c I questioned the freshness of the meat. It gave off a strange after taste - like,,, meat that’s been boiled too long or cooked several times? The hard boiled eggs also smelled suspicious. IDK, we didn’t want to risk getting ill so we threw it away. Worst of all, there were bits of stale/several-day old rice that were as hard as rocks. Someone could break their teeth is they bit down hard enough… We didn’t bring any of these issues to the staffs’ attention… not worth it. I’d go back for the papaya salad but I doubt I’d be adventurous enough to try anything else.
The Chicken Pad Thai I purchased here was amazing! The staff was very friendly, service was quick, and the place was clean. I would definitely come here again.Recommended dishesChicken Pad Thai
If you're looking for delicious, spicy, savory, or sweet or all three! meals then look no further! This place is phenomenal. The store is clean and well lit. The menu is easy to read and follow. The workers are very friendly and organized. Let's discuss this food though; because MAN is it good! Presentation: 4/5 This is minute my-noot simply because we are here to eat not judge art. Even then, the food is colorful which adds to it's enjoyment. Plating I haven't been able to experience because I normally take my food to eat at my desk 1 block over on 40th. Taste: 5/5 Phenomenal. I have tasted 3 different plates multiple times and not once have I been failed/disappointed. Price: 3/5 $$ Most entrees and plates are in the range of 10 to 20 bucks. Today I decided to pick up a "Fire Grilled BBQ Chicken Roti" but was promptly told that Roti bread was sold out. What a shame! It's affordable and delicious! I decided to mix it up and go with "Fire Grilled BBQ Chicken over Rice". As I waited for my food the bustle of nearby patrons filled the small store with a lively anticipation. You could clearly see everyone's face full of delight as they waited on their dish to be handed over to them. Being that this was my 6th time at this restaurant, I completely understood the agonizing wait for the wonderful food about to be consumed. The combination of sweet, savory and spicy play so well together that after the first bite you're eager to jump right back in for your next. The chicken isn't dry and has a great consistency/bite; the rice is fluffy and soft rewarding to chew; the salad was crunchy and fresh. Note! If you have a sensitivity to capsaicin, be aware that the spicy food here does not have grades. You may be able to ask for a reduced amount of spicy ingredients but I encourage you to brave the dishes as they're cooked to be if you're not allergic of course. Contrary to older reviews, every time I've had food here, I've always received fresh food that's great tasting. Chefs are human and have good and bad days as well. But every time I've bought food here, I get closer to falling in love and becoming obsessed with the cuisine. Thank you for taking the time to read this, now get your order in! Each bite is to die for! -Rafael Vegetarian options: The pictures provided in this review show a menu that clearly indicates whether the option is gluten free GF and/or Vegan VG.
Best green curry I’ve ever had! It was creamy and smooth, and the squid was perfectly soft. The Thai iced tea was delicious as well.
Good, but a bit inconsistent. I've had some wonderful pad thai here, but i've also had a few stops where the noodles are all sticking together with barely enough sauce. Most of the time it's delicious — the flavors and variety are all there — but i've been disappointed a few times as well.
The best thai food you will ever find in the city! Always fresh, always delicious & always light. Feels clean & healthy. For deliveries I just want you to not always include utensils & or plates. You should ask customers if they want them. And perhaps consider switching to paper containers. We must stop using plastic.
Finding Northern Thai food outside of the region is tricky. And finding a recognisable/edible bowl of Khao Soi, pretty impossible. This tiny neighborhood eatery has many delicious dishes, from various wrapped and fried yummies to my lifetime obsession and culinary crack khao soi. In brief this place has all you want in a local comfort food stop. Nice people, clean and bright interior, and good food. Homemade Thai tea! They've mellowed the flavors for non-spicy palates, just ask for more chili.
I bought organic chicken padthai. It was a bit spicy and yummy! I wanna try other foods next time.
This place is great! Quick service, perfect for your lunch break. I recommend the pad Thai! They also have many vegetarian options and there is seating
Cute place on Lexington. Very close to Grand central. It’s tiny and all the food are serve in plastic containers which makes taking leftover very easy. Serving sizes are a great portion. Chicken pad thai was yummy. General Tsp chicken was good too.
