Great place to get a housewarming or host gift if in the neighborhood. They have everything from Le Creuset to no names. Due to the nature of the very narrow aisles, this is not a wheelchair accessible venue beyond the entrance, though the staff is very kind and helpful and would no doubt help to get you what you're looking for, though you'd just not be able to browse which is 99% of the fun of the store.
Super cute place. Love the displays. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff. Saw a few items to add to my knife roll. Will return
Overpriced, sure, and you may need to diet to navigate it's thin labyrinth without releasing a hail of menon ballers; but it's a neighborhood institution with an incredible selection. An enchanting vision of Brooklyn domesticity.
Great place to get all of your kitchen utensils and gadgets.
Discovered some quality brands and nice products browsing here. They have a very wide selection of general home goods, pretty much anything you would want to find, but they also have a really good selection from specific brands. Among other things, like a classic selection of kitchen utensils and knives like Wusthof and Victorinox they also sell: Boos block butter and other wood block oils; Riedel wine glasses in varying shapes; flour sack towels basically just really large, white cotton towels; Peugot salt and pepper mills; Le Creuset cookware, egg cups, butter keepers; plates and mugs from Danica home; magnetic knife holders; replacement glasses for the Bodum French press; a selection of beautiful napkins and towels, including napkins from Linen Tales; bath mats; various brushes and sponges for the home, especially wooden brushes I believe I saw the André Jardin crumb brush here. These are just a few things I've bought before or have coveted at online, which I now know I can get from here!
Great shop. Good help selection
Deserves 5 stars!! This is a fun store to duck into any time. The people who work here are always friendly and helpful and I never feel pressured to buy. They do have some expensive items like cast iron pots and pans but what I love about Tarzian West is that they have a little something for everyone. I bought an adorable candle holder there for $3.99, a cookie cutter for $1.99 and some great stuff from the sale shelf. Definitely check it out!
I’ve only ever shopped at the hardware store been meaning to stop by this shop but wanted to leave this review for the kind people that work at the housewares store. I needed to drop off a package at the post office, unfortunately, the lady at the counter wouldn’t let me drop off the package bc I had my 6 month old puppy in my backpack. The kind people at Tarzian kindly agreed to watch my puppy for two minutes so I could run into the USPS store to drop off a package. So incredibly grateful for the kindness. Thanks again.
Lovely store. I went out of my way to buy bannetons bread proofing baskets from a store, and lo and behold they actually had them! You don't need Amazon for everything, after all. Prices are reasonable, but if you want to spend up for the high quality kit you most certainly can. It's well organized, but feels down to earth. Hard to find honest shops like that these days. I do have one warning though; it is very difficult to leave the store with only one purchase which was my intention. Enter with caution!
UPDATE: The owner Heidi? emailed me to remove an earlier negative review about my purchase. After she sent my refund today for something they sent me erroneously, she actually said that she had withheld my refund because I had written a negative review here. After they sent me the wrong item, and I returned it with their shipping label, which they can track, I still had to ask several times about my refund. If I could attach her email I would. They did end up making things right but it took several weeks. Ordered a rug online. They sent the wrong size, but then sent a return mailing label and issued a refund. Lots of cute stuff - probably better for shopping in the store.
