Do not use this company! This company responded promptly to a service call I made through my home warranty company. They made an appointment with me for same day service and made a diagnosis of system failure and replacement needed. I thought everything was progressing smoothly and they were scheduled two weeks later to install a new condenser unit and evaporator coil in my home. My warranty company had been in contact with all of the details as well and ordered the parts promptly. But when they arrived to install the unit as scheduled, they noted that the warranty company had sent the incorrect part, but now looking back, why didn't they know this before arriving, because the service provider has to order the part number themselves through the warranty company. They then rescheduled for a few days later at 2pm for the installation, but called around 2pm to tell me they were running late from their earlier job. They called me 2 hours later to tell me they could not install that day because of an interoffice emergency, then proceeded to tell me that they would never be installing my unit. I am assuming that they did not like the price they were getting paid by the warranty company and just took my $100 for the initial service call. If that were the case, why not just be honest from the beginning. I had to start the process over with the warranty company. So, I found another company to do the job, and I took the buyout from the warranty company. So, bottom line, if they weren't honest about this simple transaction, you don't want to pay them thousands. All sad, because, I liked the company so much initially, I wanted to give them my HVAC business for this rental property and for my primary residence. Don't be fooled like I was with the good first impression.
I met Doug and his crew a while back when the furnace on my house went out. They were prompt in scheduling, showed up on time and did a fantastic job for me. Their rates are competitive, their staff is professional, and they are honest in their deals. They won't try to up sell you or put you into something you don't need. David knows his stuff and it shows! Best of all they are still there after the sale. They follow up afterwards and are available if you have any questions. They are in business for the long haul, not a one and done! They care about their customers and it shows! There's a lot of HVAC companies out there, but if you want one that is there when you need them, someone you can count on, and honest with you on your dealings call Temperature Pro Carolinas- Charlotte branch!
Doug and his team at TemperaturePro Charlotte were awesome to work with. They were quick to respond to my emergency AC needs and very fairly priced. I plan to make these guys my HVAC company from here on out. I highly recommend them!
Like many, I've been on borrowed time with my old AC unit and it finally went out at the beginning of our first heat wave this season. I called TemperaturePro Carolinas, with no expectations that they would respond immediately, but they did! In fact, the President, Doug Evans, along with a technician, came to my house! It was clearly time for a new unit, but they actually nursed my old unit back to working order until they could schedule installation of a new one. They were able to work with my busy schedule to do the install just a couple of days later and I could not be happier with it! Doug was very upfront and honest, gave me several options -- and did not try to up-sell me on something I didn't need. I'm a customer for life!
A friend recommended Temperature Pro when I needed a new HVAC unit. They were installing one right down the block and came by. They matched the competitors' price, did the work in less time than I had been told, and did a follow up inspection at my request. Turned out that the noise I heard was the return vent grate resonating as the air moved through it, and all that was needed was to bend the louvres a little bit! Can't hear it at all now, and works great.
I have been using TemperaturePro to maintain my walk-in cooler and freezer and also my HVAC units since the inception of my restaurant. I always had a very positive and pleasant experience with them. Folks like Travis, David, Doug and Tina are always there to help out. Operating a restaurant, all our problems need to be handled on an emergency basis. Whether it is after hours or the weekend, the team at TemperaturePro would attend to the issue and always resolved it in a quick fashion. Highly recommend TemperaturePro for all your refrigeration and HVAC needs.
My AC stopped working so I called multiple companies to see how much it would cost to get a diagnostic. I found one company that was cheaper than Temp Pro, but I still went with Temp Pro because I spoke to the owner, Doug, and he seemed very trustworthy and honest. My technician was Travis and he was an hour late, but I let it slide as I was scheduled for 8am. He provided 3 options, one of which was to replace the HVAC system completely. I requested a quote from him to get the system replaced as it was hitting its 10-15 yr mark anyway. At the end of it, he was rushing for me to “let him leave” as he had other customers - understandably so, but he arrived to my appointment late which made me late to my own meetings so that was frustrating to hear. He also suggested a 2 ton system even after knowing my condo is 644 sq ft, which certainly falls under a 1.5 ton system. A week later, I still hadn’t received the quote so I called Doug. It was 7pm and I didn’t expect him to answer, thus I left him a VM. Today, I received a call from their customer service team who asked if I would like to provide a review. I told her that I was still waiting for my quote and hadn’t heard from Travis or Doug. Instead of her trying to help, she instead said “I apologize for that, thank you for your time, have a good evening” and hung up. They’re great at making it seem like they’re all about the customer, but it’s clear that the customer is their last priority.
I met Doug Evans, president at TemperaturePro Carolinas, through several networking groups in the Charlotte area. Through these groups I learned what distinguishes Doug and TemperaturePro from other companies in the area. Then I had the opportunity to experience the level of service from these professionals first hand. A senior friend of mine called me and let me know that her AC was not working. She has had a rough go at it lately with medical and physical health issues, and her home being 89 degrees was making everything more difficult. I immediately called Doug and he sent David Barley to fix the problem. David quickly analyzed the issues and fixed the problem. Most companies in the area can do that. How this team differentiates themselves from everyone else is proven through my friend’s statement “David is a very nice gentleman. Not enough words to express my gratitude. I am truly humbled. Never had something done before like this. AC is up and running. What a wonderful blessing. Many thanks.” I am honored to have met Doug and even more appreciative of his company’s mission to deliver this level of customer service.
Luis came out to my newly purchased home to give me a status update on my HVAC system. The house is 55 years old and let’s just say, the previous owners weren’t completely honest on the condition. Luis crawled under my house and checked the whole system before explaining everything in detail to me, including photos. He was very genuine, honest and excited about his new opportunity with TemperaturePros he’s been in the business a while but with TP for a week. I’m definitely going to call Doug and Luis when anything comes up because I trust them completely - and that’s hard to find in HVAC these days. Thanks for the awesome service guys!
We have been dealing with Temperature Pro for over a year now. Our home warranty company called them out to address our blower unit which ended up being replaced by TempPro. We didn’t have heat in December with a newborn baby, so we were very thankful for how quickly they got here and replaced the unit. A few months go by and the unit was leaking water in the attic because Temp Pro didn’t do the job properly. We were left with property damage and a mess to clean up. Doug came by and took a look at everything. They fixed the issue and sent someone over to fix the drywall that was missing when the ceiling caved in. We asked about an inspection and why the unit wasn’t inspected after the new unit was installed in December. TempPro told us that they pulled permits but didn’t know why the inspector never came. We repeatedly asked for documentation of the permits but were not given it. The inspector came and was confused about the situation. He told me that he never just doesn’t come for an inspection as TempPro suggested. He found several matters that needed to be addressed and told me that TempPro would have to come back to fix it. One of the “fixes” that TempPro suggested was to give us a filter that fit the unit properly to switch out before the inspector came back and then switch to one that was oversized once he passed them for inspection. This would have stopped the loud humming noise that could be heard on the first floor of our home. We told TempPro that we would not do this, which forced them to come back and fix things that they should have taken care of to begin with. They have failed their inspection several times. It happened again this morning. They replaced the blower unit in our attic in December 2017, and here on January 14, 2019 they STILL haven’t finished the job that was started over a year ago. They have been here so many times that I’ve lost count. All of the glowing reviews that they receive make no sense to me. The inspector told me that many of the matters that had to be addressed were HVAC 101. It also is confusing that they don’t understand what the inspector is looking for and they ask homeowners for clarification. It’s as though they don’t regularly deal with inspectors. We didn’t have an inspection until we pushed for one. I have had to call them to request that they come back and complete work so the inspection can be completed. They just don’t care. They also haven’t been very apologetic throughout this ordeal. If this were my company, I would be so incredibly embarrassed by the lack of professionalism and by the mistakes that caused property damage that I would have personally taken care of these problems myself. Having a customer that is still experiencing issues more than a year later would cause me to evaluate what is going wrong with my company. I would never pay this company to do work for us. We have learned the hard way what to look for when getting HVAC work done on our home. Now we have to pay another company to clean up after them. I don’t think I could possibly be more unsatisfied with this company.
