Let’s start with the positives! Good location, great space. They have a lot of heart and soul. Rustic, woody, eclectic and unique describe the vibe you’ll get. I loved the art, each piece was unique. The artist was also there as we were there, doing a live painting. Our waitress was nice and the food was very affordable. For most people, it would be a great option to come and dine at or attend an event. Now, when it comes to the food and the menu, I was disappointed. The food was just cooked, nothing more or less. No seasoning, and nothing spectacular. I ordered the chicken box and the chicken was dry. The side salad was a few pieces of lettuce on a plate. The French fries had nothing on them, not even salt. The menu seems a little over the place. I get that they serve American food, but I wish they focused in on something particular like sandwiches or just chicken and perfect that. I think the menu could be streamlined and refined and would make for better food and a better experience. I love supporting black owned businesses and maybe it was an off day, so I would still recommend you try them out. They are a black owned business!
I grabbed a quick lunch just a side salad it was good and service was quick and my server was friendly. Nice music was playing and the walls were covered in dope art. I briefly talked to the owner and a local artist. Great Vibes I'll be back !
Ordered the fish platter and paid $18. Only to get home and see there was only 1 piece of fish in the container. That's very pricey for 1 piece of fish and 2 small sides. I was also very turned off by the cashier. She was very nasty, had an attitude and started arguing with the cook in front of customers. When another guy said something to her about it she said she didn't care and was ready to go home.
Good service. The fries and candies yams were good. However, the chicken sandwich was greasy, and the chicken itself was hard to chew.
A true gem for the city to shine. Excellent healthy menu options and great live music. This place is run by someone who cares about what the city needs and has a staff that is willing to raise the expectations of quality service in Baltimore.
The Jerk Garden At Terra Café Looking For Support After Local Ordinances Threatens To Shut Down Outdoor Entertainment. Clarence III Ward & Terra Cafe needs community support! I drive to Baltimore on Monday evenings and have attended and performed at many of these sessions inside and outside. It's probably the best Jam Session on the East Coast. There's none other like it. A large wide open space that friends and musicians gather every Monday evening to listen and play America's Art Form. Nothing but love.. Everyone wears a mask outside and I felt very safe. The music is not loud or over bearing. The sound of the music is beautiful. The city should be thankful. There's no crime or violence. I commend the owner Terance Dickson for presenting good music and standing up for the community.
I loved Terra’s Cafe when I lived in Baltimore so I got some carry out while I was visiting the other day and it is not the same, usually everything is great but not this day. I spent almost $40 on this. I’m super disappointed.
Terra Café. Nice restaurant for real food. -In Baltimore, this is my go-to spot for fried fish. This visit for carry-out occurred during the pandemic. No seating in-doors. I hope that the pictures show the ambiance of the place during this time. Kinda peaceful huh! Looking forward to sitting and eating indoors soon. Until then, I carry-on with carry-out!
Customer service was excellent 9 out of 10. This is one of the best atmospheres inside...very clean environment lots of good artwork. The sweet tea was good 7 out of 10...the jerk chicken was the worst jerk chicken I ever had in my life 2 out of 10. Luckily I had some jerk sauce at home I had to cook the jerk chicken again with the jerk sauce I purchased in Jamaica. The Mac and cheese was good it was a 6.5 out of 10. The greens were unseasoned I had to season them myself at home 4 out of 10. The service was fast..food was ready in little time so that's a plus. Figured I'd try this place out since it's close to my girlfriend's house.
The food was okay. I ordered the fried fish with Mac and cheese and sweet potatoes. Second order was a turkey burger. The fish was the best everything else including the fish but it was good I can make it better at home. The food was not seasoned good/enough and the texture of the mac and cheese was thick and lumpy which was not good imo!
