When you first walk in the door there is an odd smell, I'm not sure what it is, maybe a little musty? Nothing that made me want to walk out the door. The service was good, the waiter was nice and answered questions. The food was alright, and the presentation was beautiful, but it was pretty expensive for what it was. I feel like they also filled up plates with big chunks of tomatoes just to take up space. My sister had friend rice and there were chunks of tomatoes in it, which I find strange. I got the sweet and sour with tofu and veg, and I only got one single piece of broccoli. The tofu was cooked perfect though, it didn't have that gross tofu texture. I was going to order a veggie sushi roll but I think 7.50 for a roll that has veggies in in (including LETTUCE?!) is kind of ridiculous. I don't think Mason City has very many sushi places, so maybe that's why they can mark it up so high, but honestly I pay half of that for a roll elsewhere (not Mason City). I would return, but it's not going to be my first choice.

Taste was 5/5 Great authentic Thai food. Service was 5/5 very attentive and courteous. Very cute little quaint fine Thai dining. If ever in the area I recommend 100%

My family and I have visited this establishment multiple times since they opened. At first, things were wonderful, no complaints. However, over the past few months things have gone down hill. :( Which kills me because my family LOVES sushi. Last 3 visits, our service was very sub-par. During lunch visit, took over an hour to receive our food and they were not busy. Visit yesterday, the hostess who sat us was AMAZING, however, took our server over 10 minutes to say "Be with you in a second" (he had one other table of 4 he was working with). When he did approach our table, we were ready to order. I stated I would like the advertised Lunch Sushi special on the table card (no exceptions or only served during these days or times noted on the card, anywhere), and we were visiting at noon. Anyway, they did not honor that special on weekends as they don't serve lunch. This was the last straw, you could say. We left and took our business to the Sushi Food Truck over by Target. He at least has decent prices and fast service. Would love to see him open a small sushi bar. I, however, will not be returning my service to Thai Bistro, though this breaks my heart.

My husband and I had our 3 year anniversary dinner here and the atmosphere was perfect. Low lighting, songs playing pertaining to love and relationships and helpful staff. Chef's Choice for sushi was a great suprise. Not too spicy, not too bland. Dirty Dancing Roll, Fried Dumplings, and Crab Ragoons were top notch. Our 2 year old loved leftover sushi. Fatty Pig was a little tough but Chicken Lo Mein was fantastic for 23.00....We dropped over $100 for 2 apps, 2 meals, 2 rolls, 2 drinks, and tip for waiter and sushi chef.10/10 but pricey.

Even though the wait staff are wonderful, polite and very helpful people and the restaurant itself is a beautiful contemporary look and kept well cleaned, I have been disappointed the two times I have visited with their menu. I have found the fried rice overly sweet and the shrimp, even though they were jumbo, still had their tails on them and did not enjoy fighting the shrimp to get their tails off. The ramen tasted like the inexpensive ramen packages college kids would buy, the pork belly tasted a day old being dry and tough to chew and the broth tasted more like water with pork extract. I was excited about the bobas to find out that they fill the glass full of ice that you ended up drinking the liquid before you even get a few of the pearls. The next time I had the drink the pearls were hard and grainy. When I sent it back I was told if I wanted a replacement then I would had to pay for two drinks.
