Fresh food and friendly service. It was pretty empty on a Wednesday night, but I was prepared since I called ahead. Our waiter was polite and attentive and the chef sent out a delicious complimentary creme brûlée.
I really enjoyed the food, the best Thai food that I ever had.
Unfortunately when I tried calling my favorite thai restaurant and found out they are closed on Monday's, I decided to try Thai Chef. I will not make this mistake again. After placing my order I quickly got a return call telling me that they were out of spring rolls for the combo app so should they replace it. i suggested more chicken satay but when offered beef satay I agreed. I waited about 15 min and was about to go in for pickup when I received another call saying that they didn't have the noodles either. I went into the restaurant and they simply hadn't made the noodles by that point. I asked for them to make the same dish with different noodles and had to wait additional time. As I was ready to pay, the woman told me they didn't have beef satay and they had replaced it with dumplings. I was so frustrated by this point that I wanted to pay the bill and leave. They offered me 10% off which was barely any consolation. Arriving home, I found that not only had the spring rolls been switched but there were no prawns either. Instead I was given dumplings and meatballs which were barely edible. The rest of the food tasted sour and undercooked. I will not return and would not recommend take out from this establishment.
We ordered delivery for dinner from Thai Chef. Our order included curry puffs, chicken satay, and spring rolls as starters. I was impressed by the number of spring rolls in one order seven!. The flavor was good on the curry puff but if needed a thinner sauce than the cucumber “chutney” it was served with. Husband raved about the chicken satay. For mains, we ordered chicken pad Thai and green chicken curry. Both had great flavor and were generous portions. We ordered the pad Thai at a medium spice level, but found it lacking any discernible heat. Delivery order included multiple pairs of chopsticks. A curious order of white toast points was included.
Food is good, service is horrible! We were a group of four who dined there on a recent Saturday evening. We ordered appetizers and entrees. The waiter brought out 3 of the 4 appetizers. The fourth appetizer wasn't brought out until 15 minutes after the first three were served. It was a salad that was identical to one of the others so there seemed to be no reason for the delay. Then the waiter started bringing out the entrees one at a time and about 5 minutes apart. The fourth entree was not brought out so we started questioning our waiter who assured us it would be out soon. We all gave this person some food and he told the waiter to cancel the dish. Finally a half hour later the manager appeared with the dish. We told him it was too late and to take it off our check. We will not be back...
Service was very very very slow. We were only served water ONCE- we were there 2 Hours. Dinners were brought out at different times- took 15 minutes between the first dinner and the last dinner to be brought to the table for our party of 8. We bought vegetarian dumplings from vegetarian menu and they had fish inside. When we asked the head waiter, he denied there was fish in the dumplings. Taste of the food...not much different from cheap Chinese food. Chicken Satay- very dry. Waited over 30 minutes after dinner to be asked for dessert order. Not worth it...
Before I begin, they have a very nice staff. Now....the service on a night where the place was 10% occupied was painfully slow. They took our drink order right away and then disappeared for 15 minutes. I had to flag our server down to take our order. I ordered green curry with tofu which is what I get at other Thai places. The dish was mediocre at best. Spicy, yes, but no distinct curry taste.
The decor was very dated, everything seemed mismatch and it looked like an antique show. the in-restaurant ambiance was not very inviting, the staff was very neutral. the food was very great, although my group was the only group in the restaurant eating there were a lot of orders for takeout. great food not a good sit in experience
the place is beautiful but I saw a mouse run by while I was eating! when I notified the manager, he just moved us outside and didn't give us our food for free or a discounted price. Instead, my best friend and I were charged $5 for water! Most places don't charge for water so I feel like that's something you need to tell your customers. I'm never going back.
Just had an early dinner. Food was delicious and service was outstanding! The chef even came to our table to say hello. Our waitress was professional and helpful. I always come back for the lard na. The restaurant is serene and clean. This is a hidden gem!
