Thai Therapy by Mary

Scam warning: terrible experience and loss of money. I went to see Mary with high hopes after seeing some good reviews. I arrived there around 7/8 minutes late and she seemed really upset because of that, she barely said hello. I went for a 55 minutes massage. She did not say a word during the whole experience and clearly made me feel that she was upset and this was my fault. The massage was terrible I've been to many thai massage places, and clearly this was pure improvisation. As I was feeling uncomfortable I needed to pause 5 minutes. Then we started the session again. After the 55 minutes of "massage" it ended. She then asked for 200 dollars, so twice the price of the session. I said that was a mistake. She said no, that I should pay two sessions because of my initial delay the session ended 10 minutes later than it should have. I said I would not pay twice, and she then got very nervous and raised her voice. It became very tense so I paid and just left. I recommend anyone to run away, this is a pure and simple scam.

A consistently pleasant experience. Mary is a skilled masseuse and is happy to chat with you about almost any topic. I always walk away after my massages feeling more nimble and more relaxed!

I've been seeing Mary for years, originally in Cambridge then followed her to her new studio location in Somerville. I hadn't had Thai massage before, and wasn't looking, originally coming for convenience... But I'm glad I found it. Whereas with table massage it seems like the effects start fading as soon as your off the table, the benefits of Thai massage, especially for my desk jockey lifestyle, are felt in a more enduring manner... It's a fantastic addition to a healthy lifestyle, and a necessary one for an unhealthy one like my own.

Over the last year or so, I've attempted to get in touch well over a dozen times, but to no avail. I've left countless voice messages with the hope of someone calling back. Noooope!! This business is a absolute joke, prob fabricated the few other reviews she has listed. Do yourself a favor, move on to some place else. Don't waste your time!! You're welcome.

Mary is so talented! Other reviews mention her professional intuition and I totally agree. She also has a lot of knowledge about what bodies need and how to stretch safely but deeply! to improve flexibility and range of motion. After a massage with Mary I feel deeply relaxed, almost dazed. And then after the initial massage "high" wears off I continue to feel: flexible, calm, and balanced within my body. I habitually tense up and selectively over-use certain muscles, so this is a welcome and significant change for me. Thanks, Mary!

I can't say enough good things about the massage I received from Mary. She has an exceptional intuition about exactly what my body needed. She is, hands down, the best massage therapist I have ever had the pleasure of working on me. I felt like I traded my body in for a fresh new one! Beautiful, soulful practitioner with beautiful healing energy and touch. The massage space is beautiful making one feel at peace. Thai massage is very movement oriented. There's a lot of stretching and kneading and prodding and opening. A wonderful wet mound of herbs wrapped in linen was placed on my chest and then used on different parts of my body to create warmth. Overall the massage was blissful and opening and releasing. I felt like I had some emotional blocks in my shoulder which were lovingly worked on. Highly recommended very professional and well worth the time and money
