The 1905

I am so happy I went to check this place out for pizza week. It looks so much nicer I'm sorry I forgot to take the picture until after I squished the pizza and took a bite out. Great conversation at the bar and I was really impressed with the service staff that dressed up and provided a nice contrast to the normal Portland Grunge. The cheese was divinely put together and cooked the perfect consistency of chewy and stringy. I was also very impressed with the ingredients with edible flowers and what I think was fried Sage.

The basil aoli fries are very good. The Italian sausage pizza is as well. The place and staff are nice. We went at 4:45pm, so hey had just opened. We were the only customers there, no live music until 8pm. Will definitely be going back for the food and live music sometime. Prices are fair.

Came for the music and a drink, but ended up having a slice of pizza cause it looked so good. Came in after music had started so it was a little challenging to order and figure out options. Never saw a foood or drink menu while i was there, so just worked of options on the chalk board or on obvious display. Cheese pizza had a thin crispy crust and flavourful sauce and cheese combo. Crust was pleasingly chewy at the rim but could have used a bit more salt. Great space for music not overly loud but clear and enveloping.

Not enough seating inside (seriously), but outdoor seating is great when weather allows. Friendly bartenders. Decent drinks. The bar itself is small (seats around 8 I guess) but the set up is cool, the way the bitters and citrus and all are put out on the bar (if you need something, it's there. Think bloody Mary buffet kind of). Yummy food (you can easily smell the truffle wafting through the air. Quite tempting every time. A temptation I normally give into). Live jazz is nice. Chill (not overly lively, but in a good way). Not overly pretentious. And I'm a sucker for the candle light, of course.

Having such a good time in this cozy little spot, chatting with the awesome bartenders, didn't even notice that they accidentally gave our pizza to someone else. When they realized their error, they insisted on comping it. Now THAT is how you gain a loyal customer! Doesn't hurt that the pizza was delicious, too, and the place had a really great vibe.
