Alexander Brown is located in an existing bank building in Downtown Baltimore that was renovated and now appears to be half fine dining eatery and half art gallery. The interior and atmosphere is stunning, and is backed up by monogrammed china, excellent service. This alone is probably a good reason to dine here. The menu and associated wine list were very well priced. The food itself was enjoyable, but lacked a little something extra to make this restaurant one of the top fine dining places in Baltimore. However the display preparations for all dishes was notably excellent.
Amazing place, beautiful atmosphere. Our server Rich was very friendly and we felt welcomed. The food was delicious and reasonably priced; There are places in Baltimore that are considered a-must where the food costs more and is half as good. I had breakfast/brunch with my gf; We had 2 cappuccinos, 2 cocktails and 3 entrees and we paid about $100 tip not included. Amazing pancakes, schnitzel and burrito,
An amazing space in a heavily renovated classic Baltimore bank building, one of the few surviving structures in the city-center that pre-date the Great Fire of 1904. The food and drink hold up to the decor, but stepping inside you're going to be immediately taken by the soaring ceilings and the huge Tiffany Dome, the 2nd largest in the world. The whole building melds new and old in a most aesthetically pleasing way. Food? Our small plates were delicious. The bar program is excellent and the bartender knowledgeable. The long bar is a nice touch and a more casual place to dine usually you'll find me dining at the bar. There's many wines by the glass, but especially for fine dining I was pleasantly pleased to see several "affordable" options glasses under $10.
This is a “must” for everyone. The food is excellent, I did not consider it pricey, and the staff are totally on point. The atmosphere is relaxing and the tables are spaced far enough apart so you’re not barraged by other people’s conversations. Totally recommend going
A very lovely dinner with my wife and a beautiful atmosphere. Our waitress was attentive and our service was quick. No complaints.
Unexpected decadence on a Wednesday night at The Alexander Brown Restaurant Sharing mighty strong cocktails and interesting conversations in one of Baltimore's most historic landmarks. The A.B building has called the corner of Baltimore and Calvert Street home for over a century, providing an epicenter of banking and business to the City of Baltimore. Centuries have passed, and Alexander Brown & Sons has since been purchased by a national bank, but the Brown family still owns the building today. • This iconic building has opened a new chapter with a different type of commerce as The Alexander Brown Restaurant. Although banking no longer takes place within the historic walls, The A.B. deals in the currency of conversation and community. • FYI ... there happens to be a portrait of George Washington done up in drag as you enter the powder room #thefinerthings
Excellent recent conversion of an historic building, excellent decor, ambiance and service. We had a very enjoyable experience and this is a welcome addition to,the Baltimore dining scene. We will most definitely be returning,it’s not cheap but it’s worth it.
I received great service from Keegan my server. Also, the lady at the front desk was most considerate of my needs. I ordered the eggs benedict... With salmon instead of meat. Very tasty. Valet parking is a plus.
Beautiful restored venue with well-executed food. Crab beignets are a staple and amazing!
Wonderful, beautiful food; wonderful staff and great service - celebratory lunch.
