I had the pleasure of speaking with Mary Stembler who was the woman in charge. She got me set up with everything I needed to do to be adopted for Christmas since we lost my husband and my daughters father! She gave me so much information on things they do and what they could help with! She is an amazing woman and we are blessed to have her in our corner helping us thru a most difficult time! There are no words I could say that shows just what she meant to us and what she has done for us! Thank you Mary, The Arc, and the company who adopted us for this unbelievable blessing! We are forever grateful
I applied for a job here and was successful. At first the classes they have you attend seems boring and a lot of work but you're surprised how useful they are. Only been here a month and I enjoy it.
The kindness, hard working, and talented folks that work for the ARC prove everyone is capable of making a decent living. They help people with many needs and disabilities get jobs, education etc to live a productive life and be self independent.
I am always gratefully overwhelmed when The Arc of Baltimore assist me and my family. When I go there, everyone speaks and are polite. They are courteous and very resourceful. F.Y.I....Please do some research before calling places like The Arc of Baltimore. Some may think they have been treated poorly, when you may have spoken to a person with a certain disability....whom they employed. It's not to take away from your perspective or personal experience but it's possible to confuse sheer honesty with "unprofessionaism".
I went to the preemployment process and was not told at the interview that I would half to take a reading and math test . That upset me because I missed about 4 points on the test and the lady tells me I half to come back next week to retake it. I have no problem with taking a test just inform your future workers at the time of the interview. Then they have you fill out all of this paper work before taking the test I think the test should be distributed first
I used to feel that when you said The Arc of Baltimore your were talking prestige and knowledge in the industry of caring for individuals with disabilities. I am an individual with many years in the field of caring for individuals of various ages with disabilities such as physical and/or mental Instructor at Chimes, CPRS, Clinical Adm. at BBH, and now CSA at Creative Alternatives@Bayview. I went to this organization to apply for a part-time job. Post the pre-employment talk over the phone with Marsal I was told to be at the interview at 9:30am. I wasn't familiar with the area and I had to get directions to get there which were not the best and I arrived 12 minutes late. I am not excusing my lateness however it could have been handled better. I get there and sign in and I am directed to the interview room in which I enter and sign in again and take a seat. Marsal comes over to me while the presentation is going oncould have pulled me to the side or out of the room and says,"I told you to be here at 9:30! My reply is I had trouble and got lost. His reply,"I told you to be here at 9:30. I have to talk to my manager because I don't think we can do anything for you. We have your resume on file and we'll call you if we need you". I drove for 1.5 hours to get here from my home Where is the courtesy here? This child is a child to me speaking in a raised voice tone and in front of all the other people interviewing. If this is the way you treat your potential employees THANK YOU for not hiring me and making me ONE of your employees. People should always be treated as you want to be treated however I guess no one taught this person that necessary skill in dealing with the public.
Good place to work . I have worked at the ARC for about 7 years and am enjoying it
The supervisors and the human resource department is unprofessional and unorganized. Kambriel from human resource is very rude. Also the hiring process there Is too long. Do your self a favor if your thinking about working there, Don't.
Met and spoke with one black lady in Human Resources honestly cannot remember her name but she was EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I thought this was supposed to be an organization that cared for individuals ; however if she worked in Human resources and was recruiting people I find that hard to believe. Her facial expression was just plain disgusting for no reason. TRY TO REPRESENT YOUR ORGANIZATION A LITTLE BETTER.
I Called to see if there were any service learning hours options, the first lady who answered was very nice, she forwarded me to another woman who was very un- professional and who also forwarded me to a voice mail.. Do they enjoy having jobs?
