Slow service but great food! Went during the lunch hour with a few coworkers and the place seemed nice and folks were dressed business casual. Lunch entrees are between $12-$18 on average. I ordered the fish special which was a bacon wrapped cod with asparagus and french fries I switched out the mashed potatoes for french fries since they looked so good! I loved the cod, it was delicate and light and cooked nicely. The bacon was crispy on outside, but seemed under cooked underneath, it wasn't quite to my liking, but the dish was overall 4 out of 5.
Horrible food and even worse service. Had reservations for restaurant week. Sat at the table for ten mins before the waiter even bothered to come by to ask us for drinks. Throughout the entire meal the waiter would take our drink orders and then never come back with them. The manager even came by and said she would take care of it and bring our drinks, only she never brough the drinks either. However when one of us went to the bar to get his bottle of beer from the bartender the manger was extremely quick to come to our table and berate us for going to get our own drink we had asked for several times since we arrived. For restaurant week options, I ordered the steak. They cooked it like it was a pot roast. I ordered medium rare but with the way it was cooked when they brought it out I almost thought they brought me ham. Also about a third of the meat was just fat. Over all it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at any restaurant. The worst service of any place I have ever gone. Looking for a new place for restaurant week, avoid this place at all costs. If I could give it less than a star I would.
Old Denver vibe and crowd. Born and raised here, I cherish this place, it's our Christmas Eve tradition! Warm ambience, especially during the holidays, and staff. The meals are always excellent as are the drinks and desserts.
Enjoyed a wonderful Saturday brunch here. The Short Rib Boursin Cheese Poutine dish was out of this world. So rich, decadent, and delicious.
The is a unique and sophisticated dinning experience in a relaxed atmosphere. The wait complements the experience and is knowledge and fun. The food will blow you away.
Quiet atmosphere. Good food. Decent prices mostly for brunch and happy hour. It can be a little expensive outside of those times. Their food is worth the prices regardless. It seems pretentious your first step in, but is definitely not. The happy hour is is longer and more often than most restaurants so that's a BIG win!! Try the french toast at brunch! It's one of the best French toast I have ever eaten.
We ate here for the first time last night. The lamb chops were excellent! The atmosphere was cool, and our serve was super friendly and attentive. The wine was also excellent. The food came out hot and fresh, not as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The crowd was a bit older, mostly in their 50s, but we were out for an early dinner. Will definitely visit again!
The food and service was hreat! Definitely recommend the lamb shank!
This place is fabulous! The food is excellent. Quality and freshness. I had the foccacia crusted shrimp and my husband had the lamb. The waiter was very nice and service was exceptional. The hostess was even super welcoming! I drank a couple of cosmos with dinner, they were good, but maybe could have been a little more generous with the alcohol. Just a little flat tasting. The restaurant definitely reflects old school supper club. Which is awesome. But in big need of updating. Updates should definitely be in keeping with the 30's and 40's. Also the bathrooms need a huge update. Overall 4 out of 5 stars for our experience. The food made the experience worth while. My husband & I chose Avenue Grill to celebrate 22 years marriage due to a recommendation from my parents who also raved about the food!
Good food, good drinks, beyond great service. Showed up around 8 PM on a Friday night with 11 people. The hostess really tried accommodating us in the main dining room but couldn't arrange it. Upon noticing two adjacent 4 tops in the bar area she seated us there with us knowing we might have to hover/stand. The waiter being slammed with a large group along with his regular tables was great. He took time to answer questions and was patient with the inevitable indecision. After a round of drinks an adjacent table opened up and the staff quickly made it available to us. Drinks and food were delivered pretty quickly considering the size of our group. We were all drinking cocktails that had to be handmade by the bartender, so the quick turnaround on drinks was great and were very tasty. The food service was equally fast and very good. Again, on receiving the bill, the waiter completely accommodated our various payment requirements. Wish I lived in Denver so I could frequent this restaurant. Which, BTW, looked like they had a fair amount of regulars at the bar.
