Easy 5 stars. Everything about this restaurant is great. Food was really good and the sangria tasted great. It's right on the water, so you can't really beat the location. Fair prices and friendly staff! It gets crowded so it is best to get there around opening time. Highly recommend!Food: 5/5
DOG FRIENDLY AND RIGHT ON THE DOCK. The ambiance was amandine and I only took off one star due to the amount of bugs and the tables being dirty. However. The food was great and they offer bottles of wine for only $26! Can’t go wrong if your with others or just looking for a nice pregame before the next activities. Highly recommend taking some photos while your there.
I have had the pleasure of going to this restaurant 3 times now. Unfortunately the first time was the best but the other times were still good enough for me to keep going back. I really loved the shrimp poboy the first time we went. The 3rd time however it just didn’t have as much sauce or seasoning so it wasn’t quite as good. I wish there was another side option than chips but I can’t complain with just how good this is for such a simple and popular restaurant. I have also tried their pizza which I enjoyed quite a bit. Really want to try shrimp on a pizza now after seeing it there. I also tried their Crab Legs. The flavor was very good but I wouldn’t get it again. Slightly over cooked which makes them stick to the shell and become a lot harder to remove and eat. 1 pound may sound like a lot but I was still so hungry that on my drive home I stopped at a drive thru for some fast food. All in it’s a great restaurant and we love that it’s dog friendly. But they recently reduced the areas you can eat with your dog and on the very visit when they told me of this change there was another patron sitting at one of the tables where we were just told we couldn’t sit. To make it worse his dog was on top of the table. It’s totally not okay to have a dog sitting on top of a table where people eat or to let certain people or dogs sit in the no dog zone. This happened at about 3pm on a Monday with lots of open seating.
Back Deck located in Virginia Beach is definitely a hidden gem in the Lynnhaven inlet. You can’t go wrong with the $8 Bloody Mary in a pitcher. Chairs are uncomfortable if your short. A pillow behind your back would make me want to stay there all day. Food is fantastic. The crab dip is amazing for $15 but does not give you enough pita chips. It’s an extra $4 for pita chips. Orange Crush was good. Made with orange juice though. Flatbread pizza is the way to go for food at only $10 for one topping. The view is simply amazing. I definitely will come back here again.
Spent about 4 hours just sitting by the water eating and drinking with people. Place gets packed and prices are average since you're on the water. Service is great. Love the atmosphere and the vibe. Great place to go with friends, family, dates, etc. Overall a great place to meet new people as well. Crowd ranges from young to mature
Great spot for a late lunch with a summer vibe. It was a hot day, but the breeze off the water and the fans made it comfortable in the shade. Our sandwiches were delicious, and the service, even with a big crowd, was perfect. The crush selection was on point. We enjoyed the Captain Crush and Bourbon Crush.
Awesome place, good service & amazing, unbeatable views!!!! Total gem. Place was a little challenging to find, but SO glad we did. We shared lb of crab legs & plate of nachos. Cheese was ehh. Pretty busy on a Saturday, early evening. The water is right there 10 feet from you! Will be back every time I visit V
Great find for just hanging out and having drinks, appetizers and "snacks" dockside. Garage style bar opens up on the dock with a gorgeous view. Seating is limited, we were fine earlier in the week, but Friday happy hour there wasn't enough seating so we didn't stay. The awnings are great for hot sunny days, til it's so windy they automatically close.. We really enjoyed our drinks and happy hour here though, pet friendly, good service and specials. Will look forward to coming back!
AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A NICE RESTAURANT AND GOOD FOOD. IT IS NOT A RESTAURANT AS THEY MARKET IT! IT IS A MODEST BAR WITH AMAZING OCEAN VIEW AND TERRIBLE MEALS. We were 3 persons, we ordered taco fish and pizza. The tortillas came very dry it broke into pieces as soon as we touched it! They were literally filled up with onion, cabbage and old smelling tomato!! Out of 6 tacos, four had no fish at all and two had a tiny slice of fried old piece of fish!!! The so called pizza was but a large piece of dough with tomato sauce spread on top! The whole meals were a joke that cost us $88! I WOULD GIVE ZERO FOR THE TIME AND MONEY AND HEALTH WASTED ON OLD MEALS AND CERTAINLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. I consider serving customers old food knowing that it is old is a complete disrespect and negligence. Let alone serving the food in paper disposable dishes see the picture! COULD ANY DECENT RESTAURANT THAT RESPECTS CUSTOMERS DO THAT??? BIG BIG REGRET
Great concept, great service, Okay ish food wouldn't get the Tacos again. We only came because our friend said the tacos were good! And it was convenient they are a pet friendly restaurant on the water. The service was excellent and pretty quick for how busy it was. -8$ MIMOSAS on Sunday is such a deal and I'm here for it! We had the mango mimosaI'd get again and the Original. There was just enough of All the components to be delicious and not over powered with alcohol or just taste like juice. -the CRAB DIP was very good! With big chunks throughout the bowl. I needed to order another set of Pita bread that was 4$ to finish it off. We only went through half with how many was given in the first place. -FISH TACOS should of been called Fish Puree' tacos. They had little to no seasoning and we ordered them on corn Tortillas but they need to double up on the Tortillas like normal taco shops. We were forced to eat Deconstructed tacos with one lift of the taco lol. -CHICKEN TACOS the chicken didn't taste fresh and tasted like it was the pre made stuff in a bag with lettuce and an onion, and tomato salsa on a flour tortilla. With no seasoning. The Tacos were over priced for the quality and flavor. Wouldn't buy those again. Would go back for the mimosas and the view. The view is pretty much what your paying for there.
