From the moment you walk up to the door the game begins, and finding your way into the place is the first challenge… clever! 4 of us tried “the Basement” challenge at THE BASEMENT. We didn’t quite escape, but fun was definitely had! The escape room had a larger setting than I expected, and the actor was definitely a cool addition to the overall experience. I was impressed by the production value, and scope of the attempted escape experience. Overall, we were all impressed by our experience, and we plan to return for additional attempts to escape more challenges in the future!
Absolutely the best escape room I have experienced. From the moment you step up to the front door, the scene is set. Edward Tandy, a murderous cannibal is your antagonist, can you escape his murderous trenches??? So exciting from start to finish! Daniela starts by greeting you in a friendly, yet ominous way that makes you struggle to decide if she's with you or against you. I personally experienced the Courtyard, which was super immersive for all senses there's actual gravel, dress accordingly. Kayla, who was personally involved in our experience is very convincing and it was both a pleasure and an absolute horror to meet her. Try this space- you'll see what I mean. Unfortunately, we were not able to beat this room, despite our effort, but its not undoable- we just did things out of order. Haha. There are PLENTY of clues all around, even before you enter, so be vigilant and willing to hear, read, see anything and everything. Had one of the best times of my life, ever. Will absolutely return to beat this!
The Basement is an absolute wonder of an escape room, with it being wonderfully themed, fun to play, and built well. All the employees were also all so kind and fun to talk to. I'm not located nearby, but it's absolutely worth the drive up. I've done quite a few escape rooms and none compare to how fun this was. My group did The Elevator Shaft, and had a blast playing it. We had a fun time figuring out all the puzzles and truly felt immersed in the room the entire time. Even when getting hints it never felt like we were pulled out of the immersion. Truly, if you have not played here before, you have to try it at least once, it is such a unique experience and all at a good price too! Would highly recommend coming here.
This was really fun. We only did one of the rooms The Study and it was great. I've been to a fair few escape rooms and from the beginning this place is one of the best I've been to. Even the staff checking you in are in somewhat of a character as well as the great live actor/actresses in the room. Pretty immersive and the puzzles aren't too hard where you get frustrated but easy enough to have fun and make you think. Definitely will be going back. Tip: Bring some cash if you'd like to tip the live actors. They deserve it.
Loved their rooms very creative and they really spent the money to make them very realistic. My favorite puzzle wise was “The Study” Chris the actor the night we played the study is the best escape room actor I have ever seen! Kudos to you Chris and front desk Gabby she was very professional and she makes the level of The Basement quality service you don’t see elsewhere. You can see the heart in the staff mentioned which really makes the group have a great time. With the facilities like bathrooms , lockers and great starter entrance really 5 star! We play escape rooms all over the U.S and internationally and this has been my favorite so far. The tech in the elevator shaft is a must play, sets in “the courtyard “ Are very creative! Thank you Basement for representing a true escape room experience! We will definitely be sending more players your way
Game was a good intro to the story. The game moves fast due to it being 45 min. I did like the actor that was in it, he made the experience more fun and interesting. It was not as scary as I thought it would be. The puzzles were not as difficult but were a lot to do in such little time. If we had one more person, maybe it would have gone more quickly. All in all It was a good and exciting experience. The Gamemasters were cute in trying to do a cute new introduction for us. We appreciated it and they were also very nice. I am excited to try the last two rooms. The second room was exciting; the elevator. Definitely wet experience for one person, be prepared.
Going on a Monday night, we paid $40 a person. It was well worth it!! From getting into the building until our time was up, it was a blast. Creepy environment, fantastic staff, our live actor was amazing, and the puzzles made us think. They have Toby walking around the joint too. Just don't look at him or else he might put you six feet under. I have been to escape rooms from east coast to west coast and this one by far is one of, if not 'the', best I've done. We had such a great time, we are going again this week before we leave.
Wow! I have finally finished playing all of their games and every single experience has been one of the best I’ve ever seen. It’s insane the amount of high quality experience you are given even in the span of 45 minutes when a lot of places can’t even get close to the same level of immersion as them in 60 minutes. The Courtyard and Elevator Shaft have to be one of the best set designs I’ve ever seen. You can tell the people there really care about the product and they are soooo nice! Thank you to our wonderful actors Kyle and Cass! Shout out to the awesome person working front desk that day I’m so sorry I didn’t catch her name!. I’m so sad because now I’m all done I need to find another reason to come back.
I've now done all four of the rooms at this location, and can say with absolutely no hesitation that they are the best escape rooms I've ever done. Honestly, the only one that didn't COMPLETELY pull me in was the titular Basement - but I hear they're re-doing it soon, so I bet it'll come up to the quality of the others! The Elevator Shaft was remarkable and intense, The Courtyard was shockingly immersive and beautifully executed, and The Study remains, to this day, my favorite escape room of all time. And on top of it all, the live actors add so much to the rooms don't worry, those who don't like the scare factor - they're there for your benefit, not just to spook you. Whether you like horror, escape rooms, or both, The Basement is an absolute must-try location - even if it spoils future escape rooms for you, as nothing else can quite live up.
Did the Dead & Breakfast bundle with my two best friends and my husband on our anniversary- it was amazing! We had the best time ever! Staff were so cool and acting was legit legendary! I can’t recommend this escape room enough!
