The Better Cheddar

A solid Kansas City staple. Great selection of cheese and tea, plus a ton of fancy spreads, wine, crackers, and even balsamic vinegar. A little sad they don't do samples of the cheese anymore, but that's life post-pandemic.

This is one of my favorite places to visit when in KC! My purchase this visit was a lovely French Brie and some Artisan crackers. I shared them with my niece who is only 22 years old and she went crazy for them!

My first time going here. Wow they have so many different choices here. Cheese, crackers, chips, wine, candy, bread and more. Loved shopping here and the staff was very friendly.

Oh, the Better Cheddar, Where would I be without you? Words fail me: "world's best collection of cheeses, chocolates, charcuterie, and condiments" or "a true American gem, ode to the celebration of good food, good times, good company." From specialities of any given season, to the wines that pair beautifully. From the delicate soft cheeses of spring, to the hardy mountain cheese from the greater-Alpine regions of the world. Where else can you go for a bottle of Burgandy, a square of the blushing red-skinned French Brebirousse d'Argental, the decedant and perfectly bitter Venchi Chocolates? The intoxicating cadence and flow of freshly wrapped Iberico? That ruby veined vixen! The Better Cheddar is a heritage piece embedded deep within Kansas City culture. The make fresh sandwiches, carry some great imported pasta noodles huge variety of shapes and sizes from Italy, the olive oils and vinegars are top notch, the chocolate and confections are divine, and the crew, well they're a unique ensemble from all walks of life congregating over the buzz of food, wine, and merriment. The name is misleading - there’s way more than cheese here! Plenty of snacks and treats from around the world to explore here, As well as a large selection of cheese of course. There’s plenty to discover here.

Popped in for cheese, crackers, candy, and wine for a get together today. They're on the pricey side but are always friendly and helpful, and I find pretty much everything I'm looking for.

I stopped by yesterday for a gift and needed wine recommendations. The employee working was extremely helpful and I left with some great bottles!

Absolutely must for anyone who is interested in a big variety of cheese, Jams, meats, all k8nds of kitchen gadgets. I always find something great here.

Stopped in to the Better Cheddar while walking around the KC Plaza checking out all the Christmas Decorations and Lights. I asked the young Lady who greeted me if she could point me in the right direction for some Cheddar Cheese with Crystals. She told me about three that fit the bill. I decided to go with Her Favorite, Iowa Prairie Breeze Cheddar. When my girlfriend Maggi and I got home we opened up a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and tasted the Cheese. We were very Happy with our Choice.
