The Bistro Above South Street Souvlaki

Had a great lunch here today, getting the grilled chicken breast salad. The amount of chicken was plentiful, and the flavor is incredible! The feta and chick peas was also nice. I’d definitely come back here to try some of their other meats on the spit. Thank you!

Excellent customer service. I was staying at a hotel near South Street and happen to see it on my way to the grocery store. As I love souvlaki and missed the souvlaki in Athens, Greece, I decided to stop by for lunch. The meat was overcooked and the grilled onions and green peppers were charred. I suspect they prepared it the way Americans like their food. It’s not Athens but it’s edible. Price was reasonable for two sticks of souvlaki with rice.

Whenever I am in the mood for Greek food or a great gyro I come here. Their selection of dishes is top notch and the staff is very warm, friendly and welcoming. If you find yourself on south street I highly recommend stopping here for a bite. 10/10, I highly recommendFood: 5/5

I could go on forever about how good the food is at this place but what I love more is how sincere and genuinely kind the owner is. His authentic personality makes me only want to spend my money on Greek at this place only. But for real, they do have the best lamb in the city.

Wow! Just had dinner here to go got the Greek Trio - Moussaka-Pastitsio-Spanokopita and a Lentil soup It came with a side of roasted potatoes and warm pita bread A lot of food and a lot of flavor! Would definitely recommend spent $22 and will definitely be coming back

10/25/22...Stopped for a take out order and after so many years, I still think they make the best gyros, baba ganouch, and spanakopita. Thank you! In my opinion, I can't imagine a gyro made better than here. They use the best pita, the meat is sliced right in front of you and well it's just the best gyro. They do have other excellent food. Get the gyro, you will be glad you did. Recently dined in and they make the best baba ganosh and their calamari and baked chicken and their pork chops all so very good as well as their pastitsio...and Donna, who served us, so very nice. Love their homestyle food. Vegetarian options: Potatoes, salads, string beans, rice, hummus, orzo, mixed vegetables Kid-friendliness: Their food is delicious!

This place is FANTASTIC! I ordered off UberEats and called after I ordered to ask if I could pay for extra Pita bread & they said “No worries! We have you covered!” The lady who answered my call was so kind. My food not only arrived very quickly, it was nice and hot—- and absolutely DELICIOUS! I ordered the Tzatziki, Dolmades w/meat, and the cheese Saganaki. They were all out of this world. This is my new fave Greek joint for sure! I highly recommend — I think this may be my first google review in South Philly even, tbh — but I had to give them a shout out. I’m stuffed and over the moon happy with the quality of their food & service
