I used to frequent Boiler Room more often, especially while in college, but stopped after my card had been overcharged on two different occasions more than what my total was + tip...I kept my receipt and the staff wasn't apologetic and didn't give me any details on why that might have happened. I finally went back for the first time in 2+ years and wasn't impressed. I remember them having the BEST bacon dip appetizer, and decided to order it for takeout. I'm not sure what happened, but the quality control on the bacon was absolutely terrible. My to-go container of dip was full of super fatty bacon. It wasn't melt in your mouth fatty, but hard and really chewy fatty. I had to go through in pick out all the fat because I literally couldn't even chew through the dip. The appetizer used to be served with tortilla chips and is now served with baguette slices, which is fine, but the slices they gave me were just covered in salt. The appetizer was a total fail and my french toast wasn't great either. It didn't come with the glaze/icing it was supposed to have. Our order wasn't cheap, we tipped generously, and it just wasn't worth it.
We enjoyed the scotch eggs. I had the chicken and waffles which I enjoyed a lot, but the sausage was a bit too strong for me. Chris had the meatloaf melt which he enjoyed but he was not overly impressed. The atmosphere was interesting reflecting a bit of steam punk.Dine in: Yes
We went here for dinner. I got the gouda mac and cheese. Food was wonderful. Service was great. Our drinks were really good to. It's definitely worth adding this restaurant to your list of places to check out!Food: 5/5
Good food but lackluster service. I sat at the bar, and it was like I was invisible. I was offered something to drink after a few minutes, but wasn’t offered a food menu, so I had to catch the bartender’s attention again to ask for one. The menu was paper, which is fine, but it looked like someone had been sitting on it. I finished my drink, and waited, waited, and finally had to push it out forward and catch someone’s attention for a refill. I finished my food, and my plate sat there for several minutes. I put my napkin on it and moved it to the side, and it still sat there for another 10 minutes before someone finally took it away. No one asked if I wanted anything else for a while, until a few minutes after I’d finished my second drink, and by then I just wanted the check. I’d been considering getting a dessert but lost interest. There were several people milling around behind the bar talking, and even directly in front of me doing things, without offering me service or checking in on how I was doing. It was just weird, and despite the menu having other items that looked interesting, it made me not want to go back.
First time eating at The Boiler Room and I absolutely loved it. The food was fantastic, and the servers were all really friendly. It's got a really cool vibe to it, and if this was a restaurant in my home town I'd eat there all the time as the menu is huge. Definitely something for everyone on this menu. Highly recommend!
Had a great double date dinner at the Boiler Room! We shared the Scotch eggs appetizer after hearing all the great reviews. They were crispy and delicious! Also tried the shrimp pasta which was light and flavorful. I asked if they could surprise my husband with a dessert for his birthday and they gave us the Angel Food french toast! It was outstanding. Amazing service and food; highly recommend!
This place is so cool, plus the food is excellent! They follow Covid protocol which is nice. Our server was great and was very helpful with explaining the items on the menu since it was our first time there. The drink from the bar was so good! Easily made my best top 3 drinks. Our food came out piping hot and fresh! Loved it! We will be visiting again very soon.
They did a perfect job for our wedding and made it a fun night. Our 2 bartenders were amazing and kept up with our guests and so friendly. Highly recommend them for any party! Plus very reasonable!!!
I love this location, it was fun finding it in an alley. I loved the vibe they have going inside as well. The wait was not too bad considering it was a Saturday. I loved the food I had too! It seemed everyone at the table loved their food too. I suggest this location.
I just loved the atmosphere and the best kept secret vibe! Iykyk Michelle gave us the best service and was so pleasant with the cutest smile! The scotch eggs are amazing and that candied bacon BLT was sooo good! 100 stars and I will definitely be back!
