I was given the gift of the Master knife and pasta 101 classes for my 57th birthday. It was just me and Chef Rolf and it was awesome! He is such a kind and patient instructor. Learned so much and can't wait to take another. I can now say I have made real homemade pasta and I still have all my fingers although there were a few times Chef was s little nervous LOL. He taught me how to make 3 delicious sauces for our pasta. We made pork scallopini and roasted seasonal vegetables, both fresh and delicious. Also, I now know in Italian cooking it's either garlic OR onions NEVER both. Both is France. Who knew I'd been making French spaghetti sauce all these years. I want to encourage the public to review CC's website and see how this school gives back and not in a small way. What they do is WAY bigger than people realize. This is so much more than a professional cooking school. This is a place with vision and helps give that vision of respect and hope for the future to those who choices in life may have altered their path causing them to lose their way. CC provides an exceptional opportunity to learn cooking and their partners help graduates gain employment. Chef Rolf helped me to see the kitchen as a metaphor for life that I had never considered until that moment. What a wonderful way to teach respect of self and build the basic foundations of life and a healthy view/respect of leadership. I personally work with people in addition recovery and our care coordinators will definitely be placing CC in our list of referrals for our clients with a love for cooking and looking for a fresh start. Thank you Chef and CC for a wonderful experience and your servants' heart. I look forward to cooking with you and working with you in the future.
We had the best experience in a private class! I bought it for my husband's birthday and Chef Rolf made it so much fun with lots of very fresh vegetables. The recipes were really interesting and he incorporated good knife skill basics into the whole experience. The final product was really great - full of amazing flavor and it gave us great thoughts on meals we can create and recreate at home. It was enjoyable, educational, and the food we created was exceptional. We will definitely do this again!
Our first Team Building activity was definitely a huge success! We had a Basic pasta-making cooking class with Chef Rolf. From the moment we walked in up until the moment we left, we felt warm and welcomed. It was by far the best class I've ever done, and would highly recommend to anyone looking to expand their culinary and cultural knowledge. Chef Rolf answered any questions we had and we enjoyed sharing travel stories while learning the process of making homemade pasta and then finally enjoyed the three pasta dishes at the end. It was an experience we didn't want to end! Thank you again!
Wow, all I can say is WOW. We gave our 27-year-old son the knife skills class as a birthday gift. Chef Rolf was the instructor. Chef Rolf obviously enjoys teaching and his love of cooking shines through. My son was already a pretty good cook with adequate knife skills. Chef Rolf was able to adjust his instruction to my son's level and brought his skills up several levels. Chef Rolf is a kind, soft spoken, highly educated, and wonderfully gifted instructor. He truly earned my Chemical Engineer son's respect when they discussed the Physics and Chemistry of the cooking process and Chef Rolf was able teach my son a thing or two on the subject. When we got into the car to drive home my son looked at me with a smile and said, "That was a great birthday gift." He spent the 2-hour drive home enthusiastically telling me about different parts of the class and things they discussed through the day. Thank you, Chef Rolf, I'm not sure you realize the positive impact you made that day. I am so glad we found the school and will be sending friends.
My daughter and I spent a great afternoon with Chef Rolf learning Advanced Pasta Making Techniques. Throughout the entire class we learned advanced tips on how to make the best pasta, fillings and sauces. If you enjoy cooking, working alongside a professional Chef is an experience you should not miss. I highly recommend taking a class at Culinary Concepts AB!
I just finished the Fall and Winter soups class with Chef Rolf this past weekend and it was a great experience. There were 4 of us in the class and we had plenty of room and lots of fresh ingredients to work with. Chef Rolf shared some basic knife skills and taught us how to gage temperatures as we added the components to two different soups Minestrone and Corn Chowder. I learned that there is so much more to making good soup than just following a recipe. So many interesting nuances to cooking. :
Had the pleasure of getting instruction from Chef Rolf during a Knife Mastery Class. As a self taught, home cook I was very happy to learn the efficient methods that chefs use to make quick work of their vegetable cleaning and prepping. Definitely going back for another class soon!
Chef Antwon and Sushi Specialist Yupru were incredible. Wasn't sure what to expect from an organization standpoint, but everything was 5-star. They were incredibly accommodating and walked us through each step during their Sushi & Tempura class. Music playing, sushi being made and eaten, and they had everything we needed to feel comfortable there. Antwon is the man. Book at Culinary Concepts AB. Definitely coming back for the knife class.
Chef Rolf was amazing! Me and my partner were in Massanutten for my birthday and decided to reserve a Pasta 101 class. We had so much fun and the chef went out of his way to give us a unique experience. 10/10 would recommend
