This is absolutely the worst public transit I've ever experienced. And I've been all over the country. Routes are routinely late, drivers are rude and dismissive, buses are dirty and it takes forever for passengers to insert their fares. Don't bother registering a complaint because nothing will done to address it! And the shame of it all is it could be sooooo much better.
The bus system sucks the schedules that are posted at the bus stop are out of date customer service, When you call always has an Attitude or don't have time. The bus drivers don't want to give you direction or any information. I don't understand why Columbia. Is still funding this bus system. It needs to be revamped immediately. It's a joke. With Columbia South Carolina making all of these awesome improvements!I think this bus system should be looked into immediately.Half of the time the buses never come on their schedule route.I've actually been on a bus where a woman skipped a whole rout.E in order for her to be on time like I said, this bus system needs to be revamped.It truly is a joke.
Whatever you do .. don't ask any of the drivers a simple question.. attitude ! Is all you going to get. It's ridiculous how they drivers talk and act towards people. I don't even ride that much but when I do my God they act like WE told them to get this job . It's not even funny. 1 star service at its best . Bus be late ? Attitude.. ask a question.. attitude. Comet has to do better! It's jus overall terrible. Only riding cuz my car in the shop for a week. That's how bad it is I had to come give a review in a weeks time frame. God bless
Was just at the Transit center miissed one bus so I left came back was approached by transit supervisor ask me which bus I was catching I said 501 He sais you misse d that bus three times. I said I took care of some business and came back to use the bathroom.which iif had just exited as two armed security guards made a turn around after my exit I was surrounded by a police and weo guards and the supervisor. I said wa is this about I just stopped to use the restroom and now I'm being. harrassed the police woman said you smell of weed . I said I'm leaving and went to catch the bus that I'm own now. My care is broke. I would normt wish riding the bus in Columbuia sc on anyone. Routes are late or early you never know .they do not follow the schedules late in the afternoon ALOT. BE SO TRILLED WHEN I DINT HAVE TO RIDE THE COMET .... ....
I am extremely disappointed in the treatment that The COMET has provided to my loved one that happens to be homeless. On two separate occasions, your company has denied service to him for carrying excess grocery bags. He just had surgery and can barely walk. I would like to file a grievance IMMEDIATELY ‼ I wish that I could rate the service as a “0”. In addition to this review, I placed this same review on The Comet’’s Facebook page and has been BLOCKED as a result. If customers can’t voice their concerns, you have taken their voice. Right this wrong while there is time.
I never had a bad experience on the Comet bus and the system has improved in the several years I've lived around here. It's easy to ride and pretty cheap if you buy 7 or 30-day passes, and the Transit app helps with navigation. Unfortunately, the nearest stop to my house is almost a mile and the bus only comes twice every hour. Improving coverage and stop frequency would help.
This is definitely by far the worst transit system. While some drivers strive to be on time, the 5:18 pm 501 is always late. In part because to he female driver stops everyday to take or make a phone call or to get a beverage while on Two Notch.She has no regard for passengers trying to get to work or home from work.Bur Comet supervisors do not care so why would she?
For the most part the buses are fine and I can only speak on my experience but it’s always one bus stop in particular near St Andrews - hell the entire route! - that is awful! And I don’t blame the schedule I blame the drivers. They are INCREDIBLY inconsistent. If they’re not 10 minutes or more late they’re 10 minutes or more early. The bus schedules have TIMES on them but it seems the drivers just completely ignore this fact. They don’t seem to care that people have jobs or another bus to catch or anything. There’s one woman, I don’t know her name, but she’s a light skinned woman with a very short haircut and it’s like she makes it her mission to be late to everything. She’s the slowest driver I’ve ever encountered. She was 10 minutes late picking me up from my stop and then showed up to the bus station 5-10 minutes after ALL the buses had left. Didn’t even attempt to try and hold the buses. There are only a handful of good drivers who actually care about their routes and passengers. If there was a way to avoid these overpriced tincans I would. Worse public transit I’ve ever experienced.
For people like me who depend on the bus and have to be at work by 7 am 715 at the latest, you make it hard by changing our route to begin at 720. You need to accommodate the people that pay for your service not the whining drivers that don't want to get up and come to work. Why do you even operate if you are now an inconvenience to the people you serve.
By far the worst public transportation system I've ever seen. NYC and Europe spoiled me. But I've utilized public transit in Philly, New Jersey, Chicago, Baltimore, ATL, Dallas, L.A., Charlotte and some smaller towns. It's not even close. This is the worst. The buses are infrequent, they don't go everywhere, they're not timely and constantly having maintenance issues. This is not the fault of the drivers. The problem is bad ownership, leadership and very poor investment. I'm sure we know why that is.
