The Cornell School is a full day, child-centered preschool near Cedar Mill and Forest Heights in NW Portland.

Story

Welcome to the Cornell School, a new eco-friendly experiential learning preschool in NW Portland. The school’s natural setting allows the children freedom to explore and discover. Encouraged to become independent and active learners, the children use observation and inquiry to gain knowledge and understanding of themselves and of the world they are a part of.

Educated and experienced teachers facilitate process based learning and support emergent curriculum borne out of children’s interests and imagination. The social emotional health and well being of each and every child is a priority with 8 students to a class.

Mission

The Cornell School was developed from years of experience with working for families with young children in educational and corporate institutions. We developed a list of traits characteristic to an ideal school. This vision grew into The Cornell School where we serve families looking for a small, intimate, and loving environment with the highest quality education possible.
